They look yummy - can you share the recipe please?

    CHOCOATE CHIP BARS/COOKIES

    300g Plain flour
150g Caster sugar (would use less as a bit sweet for our taste)
    2 Eggs
    250g butter cut into cubes
    1 tsp baking powder
    200g chocolate chips (I only had 150g)

Put everything except for chocolate chips into a large bowl and mix till it forms a dough, now add chocolate chips and mix. Then chill for about an hour if possible then either roll into balls and slightly flatten or spread all over a tray lined with greaseproof or similar then cook for about 20 mins on Gas 3. Cut into bars if required but leave them to slightly cool for 5 mins before you move them onto a cooling rack as they break easily. If doing circles leave some spreading room in between each one.

Going to try them with some orange zest added next time.

  • Morning all.

I decided to use up the apricots and the last tin of mandarin, this made a sort of coulis let's say, so I had that Greek yogurt, frozen blueberries and some homemade granola I got as a Christmas present. There was a lot of mixture leftover, so I froze some into lolly moulds and the rest will be used on yogurt for a while.

I will use the last of the ys sausage rolls I bought yesterday, with the last tin of 5 beans, dinner will be veggie chilli noodles with a bbq beef steak, all from the freezer.

Now that winter is coming, i would love to have a freezer drawer full of homemade meals, soups, stews etc, so I will be working on that.

    Hi All,
I'm back after a long absence, I last posted back in June, since then I've had two new hips, the last one being under a month ago and a DVT, I'm not walking independantley yet but I shall get there.

Now to the freezers:- I can't say I have made any in roads into them these last few months, however last night I forgot to close one properly so this morning I ended up moving the contents of said freezer into the others whilst it was defrosted so I can genuinely say have have 3 full freezers not 4. I don't know if this is good news or not bearing in mind the title of this thread but I now know I have plenty of room for all the blackberries, apples, and rose hips I have which need colecting. I usually make jam or wine out if them but this year I will proberly end up freezing them first.

So tonight for my OH (all from the freezers or fridge) I shall make a white sauce and add chicken, mushrooms, peas, carrots and put it in a puff pastry case, pudding is plum crumble and custard. I'm having fish and veg - need to watch my weight.

  • Took sausage rolls out freezer for lunch today and had Bolognaise from the freezer last night.

Made pancakes for breakfast with some slightly (ahem) out of date flour from my cupboard.

After my disaster with a freezer yesterday (at least it was an opportunity to give it a spring clean) I'm back on track. I am going to stock it with all the meals I have made over the previous months and all the bit and bobs, and half used packets I have, in an effort to use things up. It will probably will take me most of the day to get organised - I just wonder what I shall unearth!!!!

Ooh like the sound of that, might do that myself.
    Your coulis sounded good too.

LOVED them!! Want to buy more but can't justify it while I have allotment veg but definitely going to try growing then next year. Lovely just griddled with olive oil, salt and pepper - they really livened up my hm bean burger meal too!

Going to try the tomatillos tomorrow.

Welcome back - sounds a fairly major thing to get over..

Nothing out of freezer in last two days, out and about so not had chance. Not used much out of fridge either. Not even sure what to eat now, maybe a cheese omelette. Need to get back on track before I get overloaded with veg... the runner beans and courgettes are prolific..
