the texture looks strange on your cake sometimes we have to tinker with recipes before we get the way we like it:-)
I spent time converting the US recipe to UK. So not sure what went wrong.

I don't have a juicer but have put melon in a blender before (to syringe feed pets when ill) but not sure how well anything else would 'juice' in a blender
Should blend together fine, melon is quite watery so you wouldn't need to add any additional water; maybe add some natural yoghurt to make a smoothie?

Oh, don't get me started on the U.S. cups measuring system.
I can see the logic of measuring by volume in Frontier/Wild West days as it's the only way (very few people would have had scales, all would have had a metal cup), but nowadays with scales (and digital ones at that) it doesn't make any sense. Particularly for baking, with recipes that often rely on precise amounts/ratios of ingredients.
Flour, for example: "1 cup" in grams varies not only with the type of flour (plain, bread, SR, etc) and whether it's sifted or not and whether it's from the top of the bag or near the bottom (flour at the bottom is more densely packed), but even with the same type of flour from different manufacturers - and even what time of year the flour was milled ("How much does 1 cup of flour weigh in grams? There's no standard answer. As flours will vary by region and sometimes season")

Today was weight day - MR F has lost 4 lbs plus I have lost 2 lbs. I am not on a diet but have lost 1 stone + this year - think I need to visit Doctor.

To me, from the photos posted, I think you have very small portions though, it isn't that is it? Though if that portion size hasn't changed over time and still losing weight is always best to play safe and get checked.

The cake does look strange inside, doesn't look cooked?

In to freezer - nothing. :)
Out of freezer - HM bread, 2 bits - JJ's Herby Cheese Bread, tub of HM crumble, cooked roast pork, butter + 2 HM Yorkshire Puddings. :D
Change of menu for tonight. We were busy sorting out office which is next on the decorating list - time went by so I made an easy dinner.
We had HM Garlic wedges with Peri Peri baked beans + poached egg.

There may have been some subtle changes in your dietary habits that you're not aware of, that may explain the weight loss, but my advice would be to visit the Doctor, just for peace of mind.

Didn't think of the apricots in Moroccan cooking, how dim of me, given I've a shelf full of Moroccan/Middle Eastern books and a tagine!!
Got a lovely recipe for spiced couscous with apricots, if you want me to post it? I make it in the slow cooker but it can easily be adapted for hob/oven.

Made a focaccia today, topped with pesto & mozarella.

Came out looking OK and tasted good, but texture a bit dough-y; not sure, think I might have overprooved it. (I'm not an expert baker by any means.) But I was in Mr M this evening (picking up some wine & beer for BIL's birthday party - not for me, I was designated driver) and had a look at their focaccia, and their's looked a lot more dough-y than mine. I'm going to try making it again, though, maybe varying ingredient quantities/ratios.

That focaccia looks good! After seeing how wet the dough has to be on the Great British Bake Off, I thought it looked rather difficult to make..

Yes please re the apricot couscous recipe when you get a mo :)

Has anyone tried padron peppers? seem to be used in tapas from what I've read and they vary in heat. No idea if they are sold in supermarkets, I saw them on Riverford to buy but may add them to the Tomatillos I plan to try growing next year.

    Nothing out of freezer today:

Breakfast - free cereal and orange juice

Lunch - green lentils, dressing and griddled veg but had to use fresh basil as had run out of mint, it's nice enough but the mint is much better - need to go and pick some. Made a double portion so there is some for lunch tomorrow as won't have access to kitchen again.. Added in 4 courgettes (!), 1 onion and the last bit of green pepper. Meal overall looks rather green..

Dinner - probably more pesto pasta and french beans as needs using up.

Definitely need to make something sweet later on...
