Not a good day for freezer and cupboard eating up!
Nothing coming from either freezer or cupboard but will be using HG onions!
Will be getting out a couple of pork chops from the freezer for tomorrow night's dinner. Will also be using more HG onions & HG potatoes and some veggies from the fridge, which I will be roasting.

So today I have made a small gap - taken a quiche out for lunch tomorrow and some chicken thighs, wings and drumsticks out for tomorrows tea. I have an inventory of the freezer which I have always kept (colour coded as to the month it went in) so I need to try and start with the oldest first and move forward through it, sounds simple doesn't it.....................I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!0

Also hello to davidjackson
Been updating spreadsheet again this morning.. I feel the end for me on this challenge is finally in sight.. and definitely before Christmas, items being pared down to the basics and only stuff I really want or use frequently. Much less multiples now, things turned around quicker as don't want out of date things in future and unless they are regular staples, I'll only buy if making specific recipes straight away. I'll also only ever buy 1 of anything!
Spends this week very low £10.75 plus water. Of that food spend, 4 items of veg/salad for pets and only bought for me were bananas, haloumi and a spicy lentil pasty which I'll have today - my kitchen is stripped so wanted something I could just eat without cooking too much. Still feel guilty ish buying ready done things I could make myself but it does look very tasty!
Breakfast - the free cereal
Lunch - lentil pasty & salad
Dinner - maybe more of the red pesto pasta as it's open and HG veg.
I've got a recipe I've had ages of bean and red pesto burgers so I may attempt that at the weekend while the pesto is open. I need to start soaking the beans as they were dried on the allotment 2 years ago.. should be ok I think!
Updated spreadsheet, most items in red are things I've highlighted as being either things I don't really fancy, stuff I won't replace as they are things I don't use.. or are way out of date/been open too long. Some of these things are also in the wrong sections therefore as they just happen to be sat in the cupboard etc still.

wow that is some list!!
I watched superscrimpers food challenge the other day and am inspired to be more sensible with the food in my cupboards and freezer - and I want to get organised as my boyfriend is moving in with me and he is an amazing cook so together I am sure we can come up with some feasts for a smaller budget
I tidied up my freezer last night - its only small and there was old bread lurking around in the back so it looks much neater now and I found 3 containers with soup, pasta sauce and 2 portions of pre cooked mince and gravy that I had forgotten about so I am really going to try and use everything up and defrost it
1 small portion of mince n gravy out
1 naan bread out
made it all into a nice dinner with pasta - delicious!
hope to do a lot better over the weekend as only buying milk and a little bread - picked up 3 fresh peppers,4 baking potatoes, 2 mueller yoghurts,a loaf of weight watchers brown bread - all for 10 p each in the bargain bucket at my local coop :T - so am using all that this weekend whilst cooking for me and mum0 -

I was thinking it was quite a small list now :rotfl:
It's mainly just basic ingredients, thought I was doing well lol.
Oh and I forgot to add all the multiple types of tea and coffee in another cupboard... (I don't drink it even).0
