I'm eating out of the freezer and cupboards challenge

Also used up half a tub of sour cream.
Just did a quick inventory of my dry food cupboard and found an unopened bag of couscous at the back BB Dec 2011, is it still useable? I'm sure it'll be fine but I don't want to poison myself!
Just eating my slow cooked goulash and its delicious. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
Put the remaining goulash in Tupperware and will pop it in freezer when it's cool. 2 packs of stewing steak gave 4 generous portions that served my daughter and I, not too bad, so 3 dinners for the 2 of us going back in the freezer. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

Nothing in or out of the freezer or cupboards today but did use up some veg out of fridge.
Did some chicken & veg soup using some carrots, parsnips, onions, broccoli stalk, sweet corn, cabbage, tomato plus the chicken carcass from yesterday.
While we were out today we made a bit of a detour down a couple of quite lanes to see whether any blackberries were about but they will need another week or so I think. At least it will give me a bit more time to clear some space out in the freezer.MARCH £62.38/2500 -
I had to throw something from my cupboard - in the bin today. It was a tub of Cocoa - about 3/4 inch deep - not going to tell you the date on it.
I tried a bit on my finger and decided - it had to go.
I never throw food away normally.
We had HM Cheese/Tomato Quiche with HM wedges + HM Garlic Coleslaw for dinner.

Good luck with meeting tomorrow it is tough but by tightening belt just incase things are bad if they turn out good you will have started on a good cost cutting journey.

OUT curry sauce and a small crusty breadstick.
Mum coming over for our walk tomorrow and she is bringing 10 beetroots, 1 kilo rhubarb, plums, courgettes

Thanks JB, you have a bloody good memory unless you did a search!gunsandbanjos wrote: »found an unopened bag of couscous at the back BB Dec 2011, is it still useable?
Yes, I'd eat that. When I started my inventory I had some things that were already quite old, but no idea how old as I'd put them in jars..Florenceem wrote: »I had to throw something from my cupboard - in the bin today. It was a tub of Cocoa - about 3/4 inch deep - not going to tell you the date on it.

What happens to it, does it go bitter?
and come on, tell us the date
Nothing out the freezer today:
Breakfast - toast and cheese
Lunch - orange cake & nectarine
Dinner - veg fajitas, made the tortillas again and have a couple left over for tomorrow for the quesadillas.
Anyone watching the Tonight programme on where supermarket packaged food/ready meals comes from? Shocking!0 -
