^ Yes the cake is well worth trying - it says it's best on the 2nd day but I had it still warm :o Is quite a flat cake and the orange is quite strong, almost bitter but I did like it and it's very easy to make so I would do this again.

Would be nice hot with ice cream I think too.

Yesterday I made Blueberry/Blackberry/Gooseberry Crumble - fruit found lurking in freezer.
For dinner tonight we had HM Shepherd's Pie with roasted veggies.

    Out of freezer - nothing.
In to freezer - Rhubarb Crumble.
I used up the crumble mix that I made last night - Rhubarb Crumble - more fruit from the Freezer.
Then I made some biscuits - got the recipe from FQ.

Yesterday used up some veg soup (from freezer); followed by Teriyaki chicken & noodles (using LO chicken from Saturday); jelly for dessert; so 3 courses but not much for each course.

Good to make use of LOs!

Tonight's dinner will be bean & sausage casserole from freezer.

OUT of freezer - veg soup (yesterday); bean & sausage casserole (today)
    INTO freezer - nothing

Im doing really well using the freezer and cupboards as I dont want to spend any money due to a long awaited weekend away with my best friend.. I took a Pasta bake out yesterday and we had that with some garlic bread that was lurking about in the bottom..
Im off work for the next 2 weeks so need to clean all my cupboards out and revamp my food inventory etc.. I just LOVE all the forums and can happily spend the morning drinking tea and getting new ideas.
Will make a Shepherds Pie today and that will use up the mince and some veg.. Yum x
Have a great day folks x

Got some cooking bacon out of the freezer so I can make Egg/Bacon Pie tomorrow. :D
Managed to fit in 2 tubs Rhubarb Crumble.
Now I am thinking - why not make a double amount of SC pastry - do a second pie. There are a couple of chicken bits lurking in the depths of the freezer - somewhere. I will get Mr F to have a look in there for me. He can get out some JJ's Herby Cheese Bread at the same time.

Just making this cake, someone on here posted the recipe before though I can't remember who now

    It was rosieanglaise:T
Welsh Poppy, how about this to use up yr semolina ? Looks nice! http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/orange_cake_57974

I use semolina when making pizza bases, about 10% of the total flour mix if I want a crispy base, and also sprinkle on the work surface before shaping, again for a crispy base. But that's about all I use it for:)

Having a bit of a money crisis as my work burnt down on Friday!

So I'm eating as much as I can out of my freezer and cupboards rather than going to the shops.

Using up 2 packs of stewing steak in the slow cooker, making a goulash. Will re freeze what we don't eat for more dinners in the coming weeks.

Also using up some rice and garlic bread.

I suspect I may be eating some odd combinations in the coming weeks:rotfl:
