I'm eating out of the freezer and cupboards challenge

I got some reduced fruit last night at my other halfs work. Blueberries and strawberries reduced to 50 pence each (plus 10% off) so I cooked a big vat and made fruit compote which is jarred in the fridge. I had previously been buying fruity yoghurts at work (as in fruit layered) but now I can put fruit and yoghurt in a jar in the morning and take it to work.
So thats my ony purchase over the past few days.
Over the weekend we haven't eaten much as its been my darling's birthday but we've drunk plenty and been out for a meal with the family. I wangled it so it only cost £16 for me him and the toddler. £16 too much if you ask me. I hate that his family have to go out for EVERYONES birthday.
So tonight we are having pasta from the cupboard, bacon bits and vegetables from freezer. Grated cheese from freezer and milk. Together that makes cheesy pasta!
I've taken out some chops that I bought in february (hope they are okay to eat) which are defrosting for tomorrow. I still havent used up my severely reduced rooster potatoes so am going to mash them all tonight but also make chips for tomorrow.
For pudding tonight I have found a can of peaches so just need to decide what to do with them. Could make a peachy sort of pudding from something from the cupboard.
I used up the last of the carrots and then lentils from the cupboard and have made a massive batch of lentil and carrot soup for the week. Tonight I am going to use some of the bread flour up and make rolls to have with the soup.Money money money.

Hi all
I joined this last year and did really well but needless to say my stocks have built up again and now both freezers and my cupboards are groaning with stuff.
DS1 is down at his dad's for the next two weeks so I have decided no buying any food for me, DH and DS2 unless really necessary eg milk.
Lets see how I do. Am off now to plan for tomorrow's meals and see what we have.0 -

We've been eating out of the freezer and cupboards in preparation for moving house in a week or so's time. We've barely bought any food for 2 months now! I'm shocked how much we had in stock, so to speak.Minimalist

I'm making a sausage and bean casserole today in the slow cooker. All beans (white, black eyed & chickpeas) from stock. Sausages (half pack from freezer) plus a small piece of chorizo which has been in the fridge for a couple of weeks which I bought when I went to the local County Show. Once opened rest will be frozen in portions (think there will be 7 pieces to freeze). Last onion from the basket will also go in, plus some mushrooms from the freezer as well.
So all-in-all everything from stocks and no need to buy anything to add to it!
