I think I need to join this again. My kitchen is so full of food, yet we keep buying more every week. I might do an inventory just to shame myself into using some of it up!0

I've had fajitas a few times lately too, using the Abel & Cole tortilla recipe (very good if anyone needs a recipe, so easy and quick - I made them as the shop bought ones had far too many additives)
Thanks for the recommendation, I've printed out the recipe to try'It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.'

Afternoon all.
Had some of the all bran free cereal with the free milk, lol nice free breakfast there, just going to have a late lunch of chicken breast, in the slow cooker is my version of a pork casserole, since I've never had one before, I just make my own, used 5 beans and chopped tomatoes, both free, the last of a pepper and half a red onion, also free, with 2 pork shoulder pieces, herbs, pepper, spices, with leftover bunch of spinach, so Deffo a lot of veg used up, oh and some parsley, lurking in the bottom of the drawer.
Main theme if today, seems to be free.Lose 28lb 3/28lb

Hello all!!
Must get back on this I have a new challenge of £650 till xmas - lets see if I make it!! :rotfl:
Picked up 4x boxes of crackers @ MrT's the other week scanned at 1p each so a grand total of 4p! will take them in for lunches! Also foraged some veg and cheese from mum who is off on hols! Free lunches for a bit (or almost free!)
Dinner last night was meatballs and pasta with tomato sauce - all from fridge/freezer was a "cant be bothered to cook we don't have anything in " night so pleased with effort
Have a grocery order this week but gonna roast a chicken and freeze/stretch out and got some bacon for sarnies/pasta. Other stuff is stocking up store cupboard and veg for batch cooking so will even itself out over the next few weeks/months.
Well done everyone with your efforts- impressive as always0 -
Have done my mealplan for the month (24th - 23rd - DH's pay month).
Bought half price leg of lamb - DH has cut into 3: a thick leg steak from top will make a tagine - 4 portions, 2 of which will go in the freezer for a meal next month; the shank which will probably just do one meal for the 2 of us; the middle bit will do us a roast dinner plus at least another meal possibly 2, I'll probably make it into a shepherds pie which will then do 2 meals although if not enough for that will just have cold with new boiled pots & beans. A total of 11 or 12 portions for a total of about £11.
Also bought a half price loin of pork which I've cut into 3 joints, each of which will do at least 2 meals, so another 12 portions for about £11.
Some of these meals will go into next month's meal plan as not all needed this month.
Only food I need to buy this month will be milk, fresh fruit & veg and possibly some bread in the second half of month depending on how many sandwiches DH ends up taking to work rather than leftovers.
Denise
PS sorry for the long post!0 -

Surprisingly nice isn't it?
Free day for me too almost lol - free Golden Grahams for breakfast and free pizza for dinner.
More potential free food here, tea and cereal, both are comps but are first come first served when they open (tea 10am daily, cereal noon Fri) so good chance of getting them.
