If I leave it until I go back to work it will become a 2 year pile next December  (having let it build up in previous years I speak from experience :o ). I am really going to try & be more organised this year and if that fails maybe I can use the money I save by being OS on a cleaner :p

Interested to see this thread - I'm single and live alone too, and found flylady from this site. I quite like the emails, tho I agree there are too many, and I *strongly* suspect that there's a "surrendered wife" in there somewhere, but as others have said, the important thing seems to be to take what you need, not just what they say. The morning routine has been important - taking my supplements, for instance. And washing up more frequently (I work from home so I have more washing up than might be expected). One of the other things I've found most valuable is the concept of doing it just for 15 minutes - I don't bother with a timer, but just holding these couple of concepts in my head really helps - morning routine, washing up, 15 minutes at a go of any one thing that needs doing. Its brill. I've been slowly decluttering for ages (like, about 18 months) I started when even tho I live in a 3 bed house I was sidling around the bookcases and piles of paper. Now I'm decluttering to ebay, or about to. Love it.

Yes, Karmacat, I suspect too that there's a sniff of something in flylady.

As for 15 minutes at a time, my 15 mins is doing the washing up every day!!!
  • I've just discovered flylady so i've sgned up and am really gonna try and sort out my shitetip of a house. I definately have a few hot spots and need to be better organised. I agree with the shoes thing, i'm gonna start putting my new rocks on as soon as I get dressed. I can't put my feet up in those, they take 5 mins to lace up and weigh half a stone!! It's less painful to be upright!!
I'm gonna struggle with a shiny sink everyday though. Mine's white plastic!! So i've put a wanted ad on freecycle for a ss one! I will have a shiny sink, I will have a shiny sink...... :rotfl:
My mind not only wanders .......... sometimes it leaves completely
  • I've got a shiny sink.

    Erm ... that's all.

Please can I join the flylite/easyfly/easylady (what's it called?) gang?

    OK peeps!

I think we all fell off the wagon with xmas etc.

So I declare a ressurrection of FlyLady for Dummies!

How we all been doing with making the bed?
I've done quite well, although much better with the morning routine one of putting things away. I've got myself into a put this away/get this one out kind of set up which Im actually liking, plus I dont then have to do it when I get in from work..........

However the washing up one I havent been quite so good at.....
Maybe its because my sinks not shiny........ or maybe my sinks not shiny because I havent washed up.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm one of life's biggies this...

What came first the washing up or the shiny sink?

    LOL xx

Cmon fellow singletons we must triumph over this!

I must do my shiny sink - I must do my shiny sink (repeat while sleeping so it gets into my brain):o . I have an empty sink tonight - thats a start for me but I'm working my way up to shiny. The pile of paperwork is diminishing (mostly cos I've chucked the envelopes and a lot of the junk mail into a rubbish sack :T ). I still have a long way to go - sigh and a friend coming tomorrow to stay over so we can go to cinema won't help with my flyladylike ways although she is very tidy  good job she's used to my house being in CHAOS mode :(
