I would like to join an easy version of flylady.
I am already very organised, with a clean house, and only 2 of us BUT I can alsways add new good habits.
My sink is white and clean, I make my bed everyday, I wear slippers as we have white carpets and shoes are banned. Sorry, I only wear makeup for a very special occasion!
I still feel I can get better though - new targets wouldbe good, but flylady itself (I tried real flylady and there is too much to sift through)
Save the earth, it's the only planet with chocolate! :)

I know nothing about the flylady apart from the first few posts in this thread.
I think I'm already there myself. I live in a minimal life and my way of dealing with admin is to minimise it, plus I have a compulsive streak. I did my ironing tonight and I enjoyed it because the pile was annoying me enough to motivate me. I've found that 9 times out of 10 I don't feel happy until I've done the washing up.

Decluttering is so simple; just look at things and if you never use them then get rid of them. It's even better to start by not buying things unless you really need them.

So we're all agreed there should be a fly lady for beginners/singletons/ lazy people?

I say lazy people so that it covers myself lol!!!

Are we following the same sort of principles as Fly, i.e taking it in turns to name the chore for that week, then next week its that plus something else?
    I think that's a great idea!

See - when I followed my first instruction "shine your sink", I got out of bed (1am!!!) and shined it. I was so pleased with myself and excited, I couldn't wait to receive my next instruction for Day 2. So Day 2 and I got dressed (NO PJ's ;)), expecting to get another instruction but then WHAM! Hit with a billion instructions in an email - i started muttering about daily washing, kids (what ARE kids?? ;)) and other alien things like husbands (Ugh! I'm getting a rash!) and I started to think I must either be weird or dense or something. I LOVE my slippers!

The only things of interest I did read in the email were these baby steps (I've amended them slightly :o ):

    Morning routine:
    1. Get dressed.
    2. Shower/Wash your face, moisturize, brush your teeth and floss
    3. Make your bed.
    4. Keep your kitchen sink clean and shiny.
    5. Do your before bed routine every night.
    6. Do your morning routine when you first get up.

    Night routine:
    1. Lay out your clothes for tomorrow
    2. Take a few minutes for yourself
    3. Check your Calendar for Tomorrow's Events (Huh? :p )
    4. Shine your sink
    5. Wash your face, moisturize, brush your teeth and floss
    8. Go to bed

Even 'I' can cope with that! :T

You're in the wrong thread! :p Turn round, take a sharp left and you should find a thread somewhere for PERFECT PEOPLE! ;)

It seems to have missed out "wake up".

I'm not perfect by any means. I left my washing up last night, and the ironing had been there for 3 days.
Most of the advice looks like common sense.
I'm not totally knocking it; if it adds some fun then what's the problem. It isn't magic though.

You have the right idea tomstickland! Generally I am very good. My mother calls me "houseproud", and I do blame her for my good habits ;) , but I always feel I can do better.
I must admit my cleaning is not up to the std of some on this board - I HATE cleaning, and put it off as long as poss - hence why I thought some good new habit would help.
I have finally ceaned out all my kitchen cupboards (what a good feeling) BUT it has been 6 years since the last one... sorry...:o
Ironing and cleaning toilets are the worst (and equal worst), but I do get both done once a week.
I guess I am pretty organised etc, hence why flylady did not appeal - TOO much sifting for good ideas, but a thread with a few ideas a month would suit me fine!

Everything's common sense to those that know! Eg. I can't understand why everyone isn't a great cook. Cooking is basic common sense to me, but I have to accept most people aren't great cooks. I'm also great at DIY, plumbing, electrician, woodwork, gardening, fixing the car, accountancy, fixing computers, painting my nails - all common sense to me. Again, I know many people who are wowed at my talents! Keeping an organised home isn't my forte! Just my desire! ;)
