Not only have I been called a baglady - have won an award for it!
I am in the linedance world, but don't compete. At competitions I always look after everone's bags... hence baglady.
Sorry, I take that as a complement too.... hey their bags are important!Save the earth, it's the only planet with chocolate!0 -

Cooking is basic common sense to me, but I have to accept most people aren't great cooks. I'm also great at DIY, plumbing, electrician, woodwork, gardening, fixing the car, accountancy, fixing computers, painting my nails - all common sense to me. Again, I know many people who are wowed at my talents! Keeping an organised home isn't my forte! Just my desire!
I'm with you there.... except for the plumbing and electrician bit - never tried either...yet. Always a first time. I am happy to admit I am intelligent and can try anything! :eek:Save the earth, it's the only planet with chocolate!0 -

I'm not THAT bad. My lounge, bathroom, loo and kitchen are always clean and tidy (OK, so I have a weekly cleaner and I'm great at 'maintaining' how she leaves it!). I have too many (washed and folded) clothes that need sorting/throwing away in the bedroom, a pile of papers on the hall table (to be shredded/filed) and boxes (that maybe useful one day) in the hall, and an under-stairs cupboard that shouldn't be full but is!

1. Get dressed.
2. Shower/Wash your face, moisturize, brush your teeth and floss

5. Do your before bed routine every night.
6. Do your morning routine when you first get up.
Night routine:
1. Lay out your clothes for tomorrow
2. Take a few minutes for yourself
3. Check your Calendar for Tomorrow's Events (Huh?)
4. Shine your sink
5. Wash your face, moisturize, brush your teeth and floss
8. Go to bed
Even 'I' can cope with that! :T
Hi Toxic
I love the listIt's funny how doing small things can seem like an achievement because it feels like one is becoming organised. For example, this week I have very chuffed because so far I have remembered to moisturize every day and take my vitimin tablets. A big achievement for me!

Have you married my hubby's long lost twin?:rotfl:
This is how hubby and I were it it just meant everything became overwhelming and frustrating. Now, after a long time, we have now reached a compromise which means we keep the house OK (never spick and span mind) and neither of us is having 'me time' when the other is doing housework. Equally I have agreed to not fuss about his shoes in the dining room and he will always wipe work tops properly when he's washing up. Just an example of how each of us saw little things as a problem which the other just didn't.New year, no debt! Debt free date - 02/01/07 :j :j :j0 -

Ok people so some basic rules for Flylady for Dummies
No 1. Slippers rule ok! Unless Mr/Mrs Right turns up on our doorstep and doesnt wanna come in (?!), we dont need shoes on indoors!
No 2. Not having ur make up done every day is also acceptable. Better for yor skin too, and us singles need to take good care of our skin for the above Mr/Mrs Right.
So how do we all feel about shiny sinks? TBH I dont see how it's really going to affect me..... but then I guess Im missing the point....
So three chores to choose from, and we do one every day for a month?
All agreed?
I nominate
1.Making your bed every morning.
This could mean folding the covers back, fully fledged "making" the bed, whatever to you is the tidiest/cleanest way. Long as your pillows/duvet are straight and fluffed. Ready to fall into that night basically
Sorry I've got vision of disco-ing dust mites!
2. Doing the washing up every day.
Not necessarily after each meal because hey we're single. However leaving it for three days is not hygenic (when will I learn). So once a day, guessing the evening, clears both meals then.
3. Putting your make up/toilettries/hair dryer/hair brush (all those things necessary to face the day) away immediately after use. For me its when I get ready to go to work in the morning, and hair dryer after use either in the morning/evening
Any other suggestions gladly welcome, was just thinking about what I know I should do...... that I dont always get around toWealth is not measured by currency0 -
I'd rather change your No. 3 to 'Do morning routine, including putting away....' as I don't have to put mine away. All my stuff is 'there' in the bathroom and bedroom.
I do think shiny sink is important. Until I did it, I didn't realise psychologically the impact.
SO......
1. Make/air your bed every morning.
2. Do the washing up every day/load dishwasher with all dishes + shine sink!
3. Do morning/evening routine every day and tidy away after.
How does that sound?TL0 -
I think mine will be
1. Washing up/sink shine
2. Washing one day, ironing the next (having let the washing dry on hangers in the house MSE fashion) cos I have Mr Slinky's stuff to do as well as mine
3. Dealing with incoming post on the day it arrives including immediately shredding/recycling junk mail etc.Make £2025 in 2025
