well though it pains me to write this I think I should join in something like this.
No way am I ready to do the humongus lists on the grown up married with kids fly lady thread and I think I would ask friends and family to "let me go peacefully" should that ever be my passion - blimey I get awestruck reading the OS daily thread so not a lot down for me:D
On the contraversial subjects discussed this is how I stand:
I know if I stay in pjs and dressing gown all day nothing will get done so I am all for getting a shower and getting dressed
I wear slippers round the house and I will not be starting to wear out my Jimmy Choos to bleach the loo:rotfl:
I do believe that its all habit based and in my line of work I train that it takes 28 days or 28 repititions to become a new habit break it once though in that time and you have to start again
I dont have enough washing to do it everyday
I have a pretty stained brown plastic sink (due to change soon honest:o ) so getting that shiny would be impossible. Maybe I will shine my ensuite sink instead
Add to this the fact that I am away sometimes 4/5 days a week and you can see why I would prefer a rebels thread:D
One tip I have found really does actually work for me though: If you are watching any tv programme with commercial breaks (about 3 mins) then do something in that 3 mins like the dishwasher or the surfaces. Over a night of telly watching thats a lot of time:T0 -
I bought a timer the other day for my 15 minute frenzies.still a SF nerd no.1:o
Quit date: 03/09/2006 ----> £1,000s not spent on tobacco(21/03/2010).:D0 -

Thats a really good idea, I find that as theres just me here things dont get "15 mins dirty" IYKWIM so the 3 mins advert beak time would be ideal:TDebt free = December 2010...as of March 2006 it is now January 2010..... as of December 2008 it is now December 2009 :j hopefully sooner!!:jDEBT FREE:j January 2012, took longer but I got there, all by myself, through sheer hard work and pride!0 -
I do sometimes clean in the commercial breaks - or recently because I've been trying to be a good singleflylady I've been doing bits of washing up etc when I've made a cuppa in the commercial break killing 2 birds with 1 stone
. I'm still clearing the sink of an evening and making the bed on a morning and my big thing for the new year.... dealing with the mail when it comes in and then filing it away instead of building a huge pile of the stuff and having to spend a couple of days doing it.
Never let your sucesses go to your head and never let your failures go to your heart.:beer:0 -
Well, I cleaned up the bathroom and kitchen yesterday, did my bedroom today then spent an hour sawing and chopping wood for the fire.......think thats enough for one day!! lolDebt free = December 2010...as of March 2006 it is now January 2010..... as of December 2008 it is now December 2009 :j hopefully sooner!!:jDEBT FREE:j January 2012, took longer but I got there, all by myself, through sheer hard work and pride!0

Since I last posted here (31 Dec) I've managed to keep my sink empty most of the time, bedroom is better than it was, and the coffee table hot spot is cooler than it was too.
I did a double take when I misread a mention of singleton flybabies as simpleton :rotfl::rotfl:
In a previous existence I had a husband and two daughters in the house - not this house - how did I cope!! Well, the daughters are now adults and away from home, and I'm single again, by choice.
I had a dishwasher, which helps declutter the kitchen - I do remember endless arguments about whose turn it was to empty it! A friend has offered me a dw she doesn't use, but I've said no - it would take forever to fill it up with dirty dishes, and it would be another 'thing' to look after.
I don't have slippers, but in the house wear fluffy socks with a pair of scholl type shoes I bought in Germany - can go out to the bin wearing them. Otherwise I'd be faffing about with putting my knee high boots on! (hardly ever wear shoes indoors or out in cold weather).
Next target is to tackle the paperwork mountain. Ugghhhh. Never mind, I'll just think how relieved/virtuous/organized I'll feel when it's all done!
GQIf you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

The washing's done. Have started putting it straight into the w/m drum and switch on when I get a load.
I already do the commercial break thing.
I couldn't be without my dishwasher!
