So, are there any benefits to look forward to when I turn 50?

    I've been Money Tipped!
I am a young looking 50 (or so I have been told) so can get away with people thinking Im in my 40s:rotfl:

    Snap!

    :D

A lot of it is in the mind but also in your figure.

I think most people who look younger than they should at 50 etc do so because they are of a slim build.

People associate getting older with putting on weight and expect everyone of that age to be overweight.

    ;)

Ah you have reminded me of another good thing, wet, dark & windy January morning, look out of window, go back to bed :j

    I wish.
I have a 12 year old that I have to get up, ready for school and the dog doesn't help much asking to go for a piddle after my husband has left for work!

There are few people brave enough to say to a 50 year old "Good grief, you look old for your age". :D
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

haha the good thing about being 50ish is elasticated waists - so much more comfy.
lol I didn't get the bowel thing, but I did get the breast screening thingy too and agree it was horrid (talk about crush a grape) I keep getting invites for life insurance - grrrrr.
I work harder now than I did years ago, but have lost weight and appreciate the little things more now.
Financial benefits - well none, but hey ho.
As someone once said about getting old, if you have a pain at least you know you are still alive.

OOOooooooohhhhhhh that would be great :D.

I turn 50 in a few weeks and am fine with it. Just as well really as there's not much I can do about it :rotfl:. With every year I got older I used to say that's another year closer to retirement but now it seems I get one year older and retirement is two years further away :(. Glad I'm not depending on the state to let me retire ;)

I realised I was NOT thrilled to be 50 when I started jogging - then I read it can add 20 years to your life expectancy - so I stopped

    Enough already

Your 12 year old needs better training, ;) mine gets himself off to school no problem (though to be fair he does have an older sister to keep him in check).

Major disadvantage of being 50 is all the blummin "over 50 plan" junk mail starts.

I swapped tampons for tena and clothing got looser (to cope with the sweats).

I'm 58 & a half & have to say my life has got better & better since reaching 50, we have made 8 new friends over the last few years & their ages range from 40 to 57 years old, we are having a great summer celebrating friends 40th & 50th birthdays (having Spa days, bbq's etc) plus having a 62nd birthday bbq for DH with old/new friends, DS's & their families which went on till 3am lol, everyone got on so well, I actually stood back that evening & thought this is amazing surely at my age I should be sitting in the lounge with my big slipper on & drinking coco.

What I am really loving at the moment is Maxi dresses, they hide a multitude of sins lol & look quite trendy!

I really cant remember my parents at this age having a social life like mine is today.

    Beem

Off cruising in October to regenerate the batteries for Xmas lol.
