So, are there any benefits to look forward to when I turn 50?

The benefits of not having to deal with Tampax and PMT every month.
I wish :mad::mad::mad:
Free breast-screening every 3 years.
Had this today - absolute agony
Down here we have over 50's zumba classes ("Zumba Gold" !) and Gentle Yoga (less strain = less need for Tena Lady).
Have a great birthday :beer:0 -
rofl guess what I got for my 50th
my lovely daughter got me the great big badge thing to wear at work - haha and gave it to me the day before
so of course I had to wake up with the flu and spent the rest of the week in bed - grrrrrrr
mind you one of the blessing of being a certain age (!) is that you can get away with all sorts of stuff (me being a gobby t*art I always being told to behave myself at work - dunnno why, what's wrong with a bit of friendly chit chat!)
happy birthday

It doesn't bother me reaching that age but you don't think when you are young that as you approach that age you will still 'feel' young.
You know what I mean.
I never thought I would feel about 28 at this age, it's weird. Then you get a glimpse of yourself in a window or freezer door reflection when out shopping and think, Oh my God!
Why does the mirror in the bathroom tell me a different tale to the ones when out shopping. :rotfl:
Luckily I am still the same size as I was in my teens, touch wood I stay that way.0 -

Yes, you can call yourself a quinquagenarian.
Another advantage is that when you tell the people at the rock'n'roll office that you can't find work no matter how hard you've tried, they are more inclined to believe you.0 -

No you don't you tell people you don't need to look for a job as you are retired.
That then annoys them as they would love to retire at 50 but can't afford to because of their mega mortgage repayments.0 -

Well I didn't find any benefits when I turned 50, so I was actually looking forward to turning 60, getting a pension, a free bus pass and a focus 10% discount card. Now here I am...... 55, half way there and what happens........they up the pension age and Focus goes bust and the way my knees are going, by the time I'm ready for a bus pass, I'll be unable to walk to the bus stop. Still, look on the bright side.....I might be eligible for a free knee on the NHS...... If that hasn't disappeared by then lol0
