The current BCA offer for 1000 points to join up. I can't see anywhere that is says you must purchase a book. Can anyone clarify this please? Has anyone else joined but not bought from them?
Thanks
From what I remember, BCA runs like the Britannia music club (in fact I think they're owned by the same people) - they send you a book each month and if you don't return it, they charge you. Last time I looked into it, you had to buy a minimum of 4 a year.

pigpen wrote:This is the point.. pigsback CLAIM it is.. but how can it be.. noone with a HU postcode has ever won, as far as I am aware... I would LOVE to be proved wrong! They are almost all from the south of England and a few from NI, Scotland and Wales.. Couple in Lancashire.. I've seen one from Doncaster (DN) and one from Bradford (is theirs BD?) but what about all the other Northern postcodes? Nothing has been up for any of them.. so are we, in fact, wasting our time?
Indeed.. BUT.. if it isn't as random as we are being led to believe.. is there really any point for those who are never going to win, even if they were the only person to enter?
Have you ever heard of chaos theory? Randomness isn't spread evenly, it happens in lumps and clusters. It's far too advanced mathematically for me to understand it (and I have a science degree) but seeing clusters of winners, and therefore gaps elsewhere, is all part of true randomness.
Do you really think they have the time or energy to study postcodes? (or for that matter entry times) I'm sure the whole thing is handled entirely electronically without any human intervention, using some kind of digital randomiser - otherwise it would take more time than it is worth to them.
I've entered every quiz, every day, for about 15 months and won nothing. That doesn't mean I am due to win two or three in a row, but I wish it did.
You really don't need to spend time and energy worrying about grand conspiracy theories for why you haven't won. You haven't won because you haven't been lucky. YET. There is no more reason why the winner of the next quiz shouldn't be you than there is for anybody else. So just keep trying. How sweet it is to do nothing..... and then rest afterwards.0 -
:j Hooray! Got this email from PB today saying they will pay the 100 pp for my referral that I know used the link and they didn't credit me for. I did mention to them that loads of people on MSE were complaining about referrals links not working and it did the trick! was really sweet and pleasant in my emails which must have helped! Thank you PB!
"I have brought this to the attention of my colleague in our technical department, but he has assured me that referrals are being processed on a daily basis and that the system is working correctly, but he will have a look into it. As a gesture of goodwill and as way of an apology for any inconvenience caused, I have credited your account with the 100 PiggyPoints, these will be visible in your account by tomorrow.":T0 -
looneyleo.. really pleased.. glad you got it sorted and hope their referral system is now updated to spare everyone else the hassle.

rebl43 wrote:Surely if it wasn't random, then Pigsback would not make it so obvious? ie spread the winners over the country, if you see what I mean!
I agree, for goodness sake, why would Pigsback not do it randomly? Do you think they have done deals with particular parts of the country or something?!!0 -
