Seller wont sell!

My wife just an item on eBay, second highest bidder, but it only went for £1.20, she just contacted the seller to arrange collection, only to be told "sorry, im not selling it at that price"


What?? I didnt think you could do that, what is it best to do?

Its not worth worrying about, you cannot force them to sell. Just give it a week and then leave them a negative, state the facts and give them 1 star accross all DSR's

We will assume she is the highest bidder and therefore the winner.

Firstly give the seller one more chance to do the right thing, email back and explain that you are the winner and as you were not outbid you therefore paid the market price and will expect the goods.

Then if she still refuses to send (and assuming she has refunded your money) make a non performing seller complaint to ebay, leave a neg and hammer the approrpiate stars. keep the neg polite, don't do it until you have written it down on paper and made sure it doesn't look like a rant.

One other thing if she tried anything along the NPB lines, pay immediately by paypal.

I would suggest paying by Paypal, which they will probably refund & then open a NPS case against them.
Sellers really should list at the least amount they will accept or take thi hit when it goes belly up.
Most of is sellers, have at some time spent time hoping & praying that some of the watchers will turn into bidders & our items will go for a decent price, If they don't, you promise yourself that you'll start at a higher price next time.

Happened to me last week. I won a collection item at a very low price. I would have preferred your seller's attitude to the one I got. She messed and faffed for four weeks and eventually suggested meeting in a nearby town. In the end I put in an INR.
Today, I've won something for £2 as the only bidder, again collection only. As I really want this, I've emailed the seller and offered more.

Ok did as you suggested Soolin, sent the email, OH went to pay by PayPal only get a message saying the seller is not accepting PayPal payment, even though the original auction page said they were!

In the mean time, shes had this reply;

"ya i know but i didnt put my item as bidding i put it as buy it no for 10 pound i dont know why stupid ebay put it on like that. iam sorry for wat happened but if that is your bath would u sale it for 1.20?"

Translated into English? I wonder how they managed to stop a paypal payment?
I would definitely report to ebay as a non performing seller.

Now you neg them and trash the appropriate stars. I don't like doing that to anyone, but she has had a fair chance of putting this right.
