I'm not sure that's necessarily true. After all, Panasonic use Leica lenses.As a general rule always stay with a camera manufacturer like Olympus, Cannon, etc.. rather than an electronics manufacturer like Sony or Samsung etc.. as the lenses from the camera manufacturers will be far better quality.Stompa0 -

And my Sony camcorder has a Carl Zeiss lens, but it's not brilliant.
I don't know for sure, but it's quite possible that they get a good lens manufacturer to make them lower quality lenses, just so that they can put their name on it (common marketing tactics).0 -
