I remember that LJ...but i think he gave himself away originally, by posting photos and a link which had his name in it....
He turned out ok actually...especially when EPH kept banning me and my 150 ip addresses to stop me posting their misprices on here..........fun days..
Have u seen TescoEmployee back on the HB threadCouponing....."every little hurts"
Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

For newbies to this thread. The postman, after his early shift, would travel around the country and buy stacks of the R&Rs, remember seeing his van filled with cases of beer.
He ripped the asre out it!0 -
What do you mean "gave himself away"?
At the time, he was upsetting lots of RnRers with his bragging and massive hauls, and some were trying to find out his identity...He posted some photographs of his haul, which led to a link which contained his name, and in doing so gave those that wanted to persue him something to go on...
Personally I got on alright with him....Couponing....."every little hurts"

Unfortunately you are only catching the tail end...gone are the days of free £1000TV's, going from shop to shop picking up free Playstations, xboxes and £150 mobiles and lots and lots and lots of other freebies....Theres still the odd £60 freebie(see kronen's post above) but they're very few and far between now...Although if you become a points collector and spend wisely, theres still the chance of you getting a car from Motorpoint at an unbelievable price ...before they inevitably pull out...Couponing....."every little hurts"

I hope that didn't mean Tesco got hold of his details..... That would have been really bad.
What ever it is, I hope he/she is OK now!0 -

Hello there leadhead, long tme no speak! hope you're keeping ok matey.
Whatever became of EPH? It just suddenly died one day with not a word...
I've not had a sinlgle freebie since the end of RnR. I came very close to being banned from my local "big" Tesco, and they even passed my photograph on to another "big" [not-so] local Tesco.
I got asked to leave the one in question, though was told that as long as I don't "abuse" their RnR policy which was there "for genuine customers" (the fact that I was spending around £120 per month there at the time still didn't entitlle me to this hallowed status it seems), I would not be banned.
To be fair, I did extract the urine, particularly when I bought 3 Xboxes, only for the price top be valid, so immediately went back in for a refund, then bought the xboxes and games seperatley, realised they'd had the cheek to overcharge me ("how darr" (peter kay acent pls!) they?).I took the matter up in store with CS, only to be told I'd not bought it as a package, as they said it stated on the offer (it didn't, it simply said when you buy xbox plus <game> - save £xx.xx. I'd been overcharged, if memory serves correctly by about £1.00 per xbox/game combo). So yeah, instore CS wouldn't entertain me. CS at Dundee "looked into it" and found that I'd been charged correctly.
I emailed Sir Terry's office, they replied and told me that I'd been charged correctly. So I then (I think...it's all a bit vague...) filled in a small claims court claim, printed it off (but didn't submit it) and sent it to them basically saying "do you REALLY want me to press the submit button?".
Net result was a cheque from Tesco for c£899.97 and written confirmation that the XBoxes and games were mine to keep.
This then turned into not what we used to call a "golden RnR", but what I called a "platinum RnR", which I travelled several miles away from my area to do. But that's another story...
I firmly believe that it was me that caused RnR to end. I blatently took the mickey, took the matter to Sir Terry, and within a few weeks, it was revealed that RnR was to end. Sorry guys but it had to be done, out of principle.
I too remember the Postman. Still don't know who he is, but I'd be VERY interested to find out, from simple curiosity as we share/shared certain things in common.
My only regret about the RnR days is not having my own transport or I really would've had a field day.
My total haul from the RnR days (including the PSP and game that I plucked up the courage to get - £89.97 I believe that one was) is probably around £1,500.
This was namely:
1 PSP and game
3 XBoxes
various DVD boxsets
various household items (lamps, etc)
lot and lots of joints of meat.
etc.
Fond memories indeed.0
