I saw Sirloin Steak (pk 2) in Tescos Worcester (st Peters) SEP was £11/kg reduced from £12.78/kg, also on SEP was promotion for £8.50/kg but ran out on 25/12/2007. I self scanned and was charged £11/kg. I was a bit nervous but but thought what the hell and went to customer services and spoke to a chubby dark haired mid 20s girl. She went back to the isle with the steaks in. I followed her back a few paces behind when she got there she tugged off the outdated SEP and threw it to the back of the shelf underneath. I was stood behind at this point and muttered yes thats the one. She marched back to CS desk asked me for the card I paid on and gave me a full refund for the 2 packs (£8.60) She slammed my card and receipt on the counter and said "happy now". Oh yes and those Steaks have got to be the best Steaks I have ever Eaten. Thankyou Tesco for my first Refund and Retain. I will be back for more

I'd be inclined to write to HO stating that the staff member was not only rude in following company policies but tried to hide the evidence ( out of date SEL ) by throwing it into the back of the fridge, prob not the best idea for shoppers to see or for the fridge workings ( lay it on I would ).

Some staff really think you are stealing from them!
  • Not a misprice but shopped yesterday and Hovis White Invisible Crust was 60p, SEL still saying higher price, just checked online and it says 60p while the Hovis Best of Both Invisible Crust is still £1.22. Not sure if it's been this price for a while but I did a search and couldn't find anything.
  • I bought a packet of 50 HB pencils (already sharpened, lol) from the 'hurry £1' yellow bit from my local tesco (co.down) and they scanned through at 1p per packet......thanks to my knowledge from this site i rushed straight back over and bought the remaining packets before any corrections could be made...........Im now the proud owner of 25 packets of 50 pencils (1200) for 25p:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :T
Ive been giving them out to the kids friends ect to help at homework time when you cant find a sharpened pencil for love nor money!!

I bet it will be other stores too so keep eyes peeled!:D
    it takes more energy
    to hate than to love...
    love and relax!

    it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
    their - 'owned by them'
    they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)

No, it's still Double the difference - but you usually get R&R on £/Kg misprices when they can't work it out, or when DtD is worth more than R&R when they can.

A better way to handle it would have been to say in the boldest tone you could muster "ARE YOU TRYING TO HIDE THAT MISLEADING POINT OF SALE TO AVOID REFUNDING ME?" making sure of course all those passing the chillers heard your question. Then request to speak with the store manager for an explanation.
