To clear a couple of things up, here's the law:
    Misleading Prices

The Consumer Protection Act 1987 makes it a criminal offence to give consumers a misleading price indication about goods, services, accommodation (including the sale of new homes) or facilities.

It applies however you give the price indication - whether in a TV or press advertisement, in a catalogue or leaflet, on notices, price tickets or shelf-edge marking in stores, or if you give it orally, for example on the telephone. The term "price indication" includes price comparisons as well as indications of a single price.

Please note that it says *misleading*. Anything that could reasonably mislead *any* shopper (including those who need glasses to read small print) is against the law.

As for TE celebrating a supposed change in policy and claiming TS won't care - well that kind of worries me. You see TE claims to be at a management level and yet he doesn't seem to show the intelligence to realise 2 things:

    1. TS may not care about 10-20 overcharges a week. Thet *will* care about 200-300 reports. They are human beings and they really won't want to be swamped with complaints about Tesco's. After a few weeks they will come down hard - especially considering point 2.

    2. TE has missed the point. We won't be just emailing TS, we'll be CC'ing every overcharge email to every national newspaper, consumer association & TV news comapny. If he thinks consumers can't make a difference perhaps he should think back a few years when the country was brought to a halt by just a few consumers fed up with the oil companies & tax.

*shrugs* Personally I'll be reading any policy change with glee knowing that Tesco's ahave commited corporate suicide.

BTW, to get back on topic I reckon all those who got Kronenbourg today (or are planing to find the right SEL for it tomorrow) should thank leedm33 for his post no 33 here on the misprices thread:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=330596&page=2

I just added my thanks, I think this was a cracking spot for a relative newbie, with an in-date SEL that CS should not be able to argue about (except for the story-tellers who work in the store tibbiesmum went in).

I only got 2 boxes as we have some Stella already from last week's c@ck-up, OH thinks it's all v funny but he's happy with what I bring home for him and the family.

I think we can take most of TE's recent posts with a pinch of salt. This thread is not dying, it can run alongside other forums. The policy may change one day, but until it does we can still spot misprices better than your average TescoEmployee. It cracks me up that Tesco look to these forums to sort out their terrible pricing problems.....and still fail.

  • Sorry i can't seem to find the above words in the dictonary:confused: :rotfl: What is this 'Bovvered' you speak of?:rotfl:

Ithink she/he is refering to the popular Catherine Tate charachter or possibly the usual answer one gets from a CS staff when threatened with Trading Standards.

    Couponing....."every little hurts"

Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

Absolutely !, ELP has a fantastic and user friendly Misprice list and a concern of that would be that we are making it easier to compile the lists for them, but hey Tesco price integrity seems to have hit a new low !

Misprices everywhere, poor old SunnyD is struggling to keep up (but doing a great job)
