Which Mac Book?

What I think is general common sense.
Great.
There's the fanboy statements I'm talking about; implying all current laptops made of plastic are "creaky and flimsy". This is not the case at all and you know it.
Of course that's not the case, and those words never left my mouth. However, like I said, given the choice between a plastic or metal laptop, I'm going to be picking the metal one.No confusion here. I see you're attempting what you've tried to do throughout this thread, trying take things out of context. What we actually agreed on after I'd corrected you was that there might be no traditional viruses for macs but there was worms, trojan horses, spyware, dishonest adware, scareware, crimeware, rootkits, and other malicious and unwanted software or programs.
I don't disagree and the consensus is vigilance is key.You wont find those exact specs because each manufacturer makes different laptops as you well know. However you didn't look far because this is a rough equivalent: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/252799 which is a better machine for just over half the price of the £999 13" mac.
That laptop is too thick. My priority is not getting ripped off.
I'd suggest most people probably feel the same way.

You probably didn't say them but you certainly typed them: "... were just as creaky and flimsy as current plastic laptops."That laptop is too thick.0 -

I'll qualify that as '...were just as creaky and flimsy as most current plastic laptops then'. Clearly some plastic laptops won't be creaky or flimsy.I'm wondering if you actually read anything I posted, but I'm sure if you paid the extra £400 they would take the 8mm off for you. Or you could buy a big capacity SSD drive and a bluray drive with the difference.
If Samsung had a machine that met or exceeded the specification of the 13" MBP, I would have bought it. Sadly, they don't.

Which is still clearly not true.If Samsung had a machine that met or exceeded the specification of the 13" MBP, I would have bought it. Sadly, they don't.
That samsung exceeds the spec on most fronts. I'd probably buy a mbp if apple weren't overcharging for them.0 -

Not on the thickness, graphics or battery life though. You're just cherry picking what part of the spec you think is more important without any consideration that other people might have different priorities to you. This is the fundamental mistake you've been making over and over.

. Not on the thickness, graphics or battery life though
. I want a laptop that's 2.5cm or thinner with as long a battery life as possible.
Graphics no.
Over £400 more for 30mins extra battery life and 8mm less computer and that all important apple logo, your choice. However you'll be missing out on Bluetooth 3, faster processor, esata.
EDIT due to your editYou're just cherry picking what part of the spec you think is more important without any consideration that other people might have different priorities to you. This is the fundamental mistake you've been making over and over.
Pot... kettle??? What you're doing it cherry picking silly things after its been shown you can indeed find equivalents a lot cheaper, its not the same computer there for its not going to be the same. You asked and I provided, now suddenly I'm not considering other peoples preferences??? That was never part of what you initially wanted. The fundemental mistake you're making is continuing to try and justify an apple price tag that isn't justifiable.0 -

Exactly, my choice, the OPs choice, and everyone elses choice. If having bluetooth 3, a fast processor and eSATA are important to you, by all means buy a laptop that has those things.

OK so now you are bringing subjective preferences into this debate as a way of winning??? You got what you asked for. At no time until the last post did you require me to be able to know what everyone wants. That is clearly impossible and nothing to do with the original question:
Have you managed to find the link to that sub £500 laptop that matches the £1800 MBP spec?
Which then you changed to:
Where else can I get a laptop that matches or exceeds the spec of the 13" MBP for less than £900
and has now changed to:
my choice, the OPs choice, and everyone elses choice
Just like our conversation about the malware you are changing the goal post every time you are shown what you asked for. Make up your mind. Or are we now to debate your favourite colour until I run out of colours then you'll tell me its really about your favourite planet and when I run out of those you simply say you meant in the universe.
I don't know anyone who like you shops for a laptop based on how close it is to a mac, then rules everything else out because it isn't a mac; its moronic. You didn't buy a mac because nothing comes close (as you've been shown that there are products that match and exceed for less), you bought a mac because you, fell for the hype, are into fashion, or wanted one. I think for you its the former (fell for the hype) because otherwise you wouldn't keep on as you have trying to justify the price. Which you haven't done.0 -

Unfortunately, you are yet to show me a laptop that's as slim and as powerful as the 13" MBP. I'd suggest you, like everyone else, buy a laptop based on your needs. If that means you buy a Mac, then, fine.

Changed to this -

Now this -

I not both because when I do you'll just pick something else you desperately need. You're basically a troll and worse a mac fanboy, one who's point fails.
