  • We haven't recieved anything since our initial letter.

They are sailing very close to the wind!
  • We received our offer letter on Tuesday, 16/8/11 from First Plus - it does state at the bottom that payment will be made within 6-8 weeks from the receiving the acceptance form back, so I doubt that we will actually get the cheque before 31/8/11.
  • Reading all your posts I won't be holding my breath waiting for Barclays to contact me! I'm just fed up with all the hassle I've had during my claim.

I first put my claim in on 10 May 2011, a week or two later I got a letter saying they'd received my claim including the Ombudsmen questionnaire to fill in, I filled it in and returned it the same day. A couple of weeks later MY DAUGHTER received a letter from Barclays saying her claim was being dealt with, my daughter has never had a loan from Barclays and has definitely not put a PPI claim in so I could only assume that it was my claim they were referring to. I rang barclays customer relations dept & informed them of their mistake and was told they were very sorry but couldnt understand how the mistake was made. A week later I get another letter saying they were dealing with my claim with another Ombudsmen questionaire as they were aware that I hadn't filled on in, this questionnaire was again completed & returned the same day. A couple of weeks later I get another letter saying my claim was being dealt with, but I noticed the reference number was different to my the one given for my original claim. So I ring Barclays again to query the reference number & was told there was infact 3 different reference numbers linked to my claim. To cut a long story short, since putting in my claim I have had 5 different references numbers linked to my account, my original claim due to be decided by the end of August (not heard a thing) and other claims due to be decided by the middle of October (haven't a clue what these claims are). Still letters are being sent to my daughter too, even thought they've been informed she has never made a claim. I'm almost scared to ring Barclays customer relations in case they open up another claim on my account despite them being informed by email that I want it sorted and those reference numbers that have nothing to do with my original claim removed. Oh and the last time I rang them to ask what all the different reference numbers were that I was receiving letters for I was told by a rather abrupt customer advisor that "you can't just ring us up to query reference numbers!" ........ well I'm sorry but if I feel claims are being made on my account that I have not made then of course I'm going to query them........ I've just had it with Barclays!!!
  • So have any of the 31st crew heard yet? Im still waiting since September 2010

Oh yes you can - you can tell them you are dissatisfied that they keep confusing you by changing the reference numbers, as well as the fact that they keep breaching customer confidentiality by writing to your daughter about it.

You could go to FOS now. It would probably delay resolution of your complaint but you would probably be awarded an amount (I would guess around £100) to compensate you for their incompetence.

Well the 16 weeks that Barclays have stated on their website is up now so I'm going to give it until the end of next week & if I've still not heard anything then I will be getting in touch with FOS.
