Thing is, is it worth the 10% discount you think you might get, when you anticipate any troubles you have with the item? E.g. it's not that easier to sort out if the item has been bought online than when bought from the high street.

It's nice in theory, but when companies are scrapping their obligations, they're just laughing at the consumer and there's sod all any one can do about it.

That's not actually true. There are good and bad retailers both on line, and in the high street. For example if you have a problem with a bed from Bensons they won't deal with it in store, they will tell you to contact customer services (and then the nightmare starts).

I would say to avoid on line companies who try to hide their identities with non geographical phone numbers, or PO boxes. But in general you will find those that are open about their identity normally give just as good customer service as any high street store. And there is also the added advantage that problems can usually be sorted out with a phone call, rather than having to go back to the store.

Anyone?...can you give us some recent cases where voucher sites are better than cashback sites regarding savings?

I did one quick search for beds (random I know, but I used to be in the trade). And in general the offers were better on the voucher sites, although they both varied.

What does annoy me about voucher sites is companies who just use it to advertise a sale, and don't actually give you a voucher code. Especially the companies who have a continuous sale anyway.
  • I was just wondering if it's a common thing for Quidco to decline cashbacks because I have a friend with the same issue.
    Late in the room:beer:
