chalkywhytebluesband.I am still charging mine up.And probably go back to uni to get a degree in rocket science next ! Yipes i find the instructions on that pdf hard to understand! I have just downloaded a dvd to my computer, and when the PMP is charged i will have a go at putting it on.And as for the camera ,i havnt any idea how you work that.
I will read the pdf more.but for the money it costs it looks really good.
  • imho - the camera is easy(ish). On main menu move along to video record and press the toggle button to activate the camera. Then hold the menu button until text appears on screen. Toggle to right or left to chage input from camera to line. If you are already plugged into your tv or dvd player, whatever, then you should get a picture on screen. Then hit the record button on top of the Grundig for a couple of secs. and you will see the green dot and timer telling you that you are recording.

With regard to your dvd, probably better just to play it on your tv and record direct.

    Hope this helps!

Bought this couple of weeks back and have been impressed so far, although the volume level seems a bit low to me.

    Anyone else encountered this problem?
  • imho - when connected to the computer via usb all that I get is the "docking" logo, same as you. This is not a problem. When docked, you can transfer files from your computer to the Grundig by opening My Computer and click on the drive shown as PMP "I". This opens the Grundig HDD and shows Data, Image, Music, Movies and System folders. Reduce this window to a manageable size and open, for example, the files where you keep your photos and drag 'n drop onto the (in this case) Image folder. The picture will automatically transfer to your Grundig. If you want to load a DVD onto your Grundig, which I have not done yet, you will have to decrypt the DVD first and then use the transcoder softwear to turn the VOB (Video) file into an .avi file. I did it earlier and it worked fine - use the HT Video splitter softwear which you should have installed from the light blue Disc which you received. Note that before transferring any file, rename it so that you regognise what it is, rather than just a number. Good luck.
  • A bit confused here - I have actually transferred a DVD using the HT Splitter softwear. ps dont try and copy to a Zen Vision M as it doesn't like these conversions and freezes! Unhappy child shouting at me!
  • Manik - the volume through the speakers is rubbish, although you can turn it up to full by clicking on Audio Play, which brings up the browser, press the Jog button once to play a track and then, whilst playing, move the Jog button upwards to increase volume - you will see the bar moving on the slider to the bottom left of the screen. Sorry if you already know all this stuff already.

ps. my screen seems to vibrate quite a bit although the Manual says that this is normal !!

chalkywhytebluesband.Thank god you have come back.I have looked at in my "computer" and tried to drag and drop music and a 45min vcd i installed on to the computer ,but it wasnt having any of that.
Thanks for the info about the usb,i just been on Grundig help page and emailed them,to ask what i was doing wrong, but if yours is the same thats ok.

"have actually transferred a DVD using the HT Splitter softwear."

How did you do that ? through a dvd player, or through the computer ?
Thanks very much for your help.
  • imho - I used my computer to rip the DVD using "DVD Decrypter" free softwear. From memory, all the DVD files were saved to (My Computer, Boot C Drive, DVD Video, Video TS), in that order. By clicking on Video TS you get a list of 20 or so files, with only the largest being the movie itself - check by clicking on one and it should automatically play whats on it . Drag the appropriate file to your HT Video Splitter programme (which you should have running already) or click on the folder icon on the top left of Splitter. To convert to .avi, click on the bottom right of the screen (the lower of the two options). The saved file should then be dragged onto you "I" Video folder and transferred immediately - or am I geting it all mixed up? Try it and see.
