    B-itches can be spayed before their first season, but as with all things, there is no 100% correct answer, and some vets prefer to wait until after their first season, especially if a larger (>25kg ish) dog. Other vets are happy to spay pre season - there is no right and wrong.

    The thing is that if you do let her have a season, then you have to wait 3 months to let the hormones settle down - otherwise there is a higher risk of complications from surgery & hormone imbalances.

    I'd urge everyone to have a good chat with their vet about the pros and cons of pre/post season - yes some vets are set in their ways as we all can be, but most will discuss the options and help you to come to an informed decision.
