Is it unwise to buy a one bedroom house?

I wouldnt buy one personally, I like space. I had a five bed house and there has only ever been two of us. Plenty of space for family though when they come to visit.
Both sisters had a one bed, house/flat at same time, for years though. Both sold ok,0 -

We used to be like that but I got fed up watching the wee woman cleaning three bathrooms. It was when she strained her back using a pickaxe on the footings for the new patio that I decided to sell.0 -

Still naughty of you. If you look back in my posts you'll see I was talking about "I used to" live alone in a one bedroom flat.
"Used to" being the operative phrase.
Just didn't see the point in extrapolating further at that point. Not until you started ASSUMING that a good looking hunk like me would be left on the shelf for an extended period
Never assume. It makes an @ss out of u and me0 -

What you save on running a 2-bed place (extra council tax, heating, insurance, carpeting/curtains/furniture, electricity to hoover ....) you can spend on cats instead.0

I think it also depends on the area - is it an area where you expect lots of younger people to live etc...you can live you're life on what if's.....just buy with your head and not your heart (well, a little bit of heart never heart). I know how living in a flat can drive you crazy and just be desperate to get out of there into anywhere with space around it...No longer an accidental landlord, still a wannabe millionaire:beer:

I wouldn't - just find having the spare room for people to stay in too handy. Had a 1-bed flat before and I couldn't go back to that.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0
