    Undoubtedly so but it also shows a measure of angst that there is in society.

    There are no doubt very good economic and political reasons for not pursuing Vodafone, for example, but Janet & John get little or no latitude with HMRC always wanting to be in driving seat.

    It is interesting now that VAT is 20%, and it becomes easy to calculate, that it also becomes much more noticable.

    I have also had cause to use a couple of local suppliers who used to quote an inclusive cost(which included VAT on invoice) who are now being very clear in sating the VAT to be charged, purposely, upfront.
