Barclaycard application - help!

I didn't have any correspondence from them about credit cards. I just went in and see if I have a pre-approved credit card on my profile, and there is (it was a Platinum). I was surprised that I was pre-approved for that card since I had limited credit history. In the end, I was accepted! Applied in branch (get instant decision).
I wanted to go for Initial due to my limited credit history, but I didn't, which is good.
I have a similar amount of money coming in each month, and I believe your income will be eligible for a Platinum card. The card has a better interest rate than Initial, and the credit limit will be better. For the amount of money coming in, the pre-approved card will have a limit of around £1000 (or more).
I would encourage you to still go in branch anyway!

thanks dude! will follow your advise and then see what they have to say or offer lol
btw, do you know if the pre-approved offers on their computers or whatever, is different from the ones that u get when u log into ur bank account? cos I've been with the current account less than a year, and still I can't see any offers when I log in! I read a bit about .. when u stay with them for a year and run the account good, u get to see them. or maybe it was for another thing lol0 -
As other's have said, put your details in here:

Let us know how you get on.
For me, there was no pre-approved offers on my online banking, but on the branch computers (don't know why). Some people on here have pre-approved offers same on online banking and in branch. I think you can get a chance of pre-approved offers even though you haven't been with them for a year. Exactly how many months are you banking with them so far?
Try the Barclays pre-checker, want to know your results.
It's a soft search and won't affect your score. 0 -
I will let u guys know how it gets! I've been with barclays more than a year but for few months I ran a cash card account (I'm not british), then after 6 months or so I opened a current account plus (I've run that account for 7-8 months now)!
but cash card account apparently doesn't really count so!
the pre-checker doesn't work for me for some reasons!

I think you have a chance of having pre-approved offers since you have a Current Plus Account for 7-8 months. If you don't, wait until the 12th month.
How long have you been in the UK? If you've been here for over 3 years, you will get a chance. If you've been here less than that, your chances are quite minimal. Credit is given to people who have been a resident here for 3 years or more.
What does the pre-checker say when it didnt' work?0 -
Need some advise on barclaycard if anyone could help...
Im under 21, and have an income of less than 10K (7.5K roughly), also a student
Now I tried the pre-app checker and it came back >90% for initial and 80-90% for platinum but is it pointless to apply for either due to my income?0
