Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features, then look for 'Ask Toolbar' and uninstall it that way.

SuperAntiSpyware is a fine program and recommended, but the autostart isn't necessary considering you only run it for manual scans anyway.

Re-run Malwarebytes in normal mode (where it's designed to run preferentially) and do a QUICK scan after updating it.

Security Centre is set to run auto delayed start, but it isnt started and when i right click and start i get the error message " windows could not start security centre service on local computer. error 126 the specified module could not be found"

I've not seen anyone fix this without doing at least a non-destructive 'repair install' of Windows (think you'll need a Windows 7 disc to do this). Edit: Would be more than happy if someone knew an alternative though!

You could try the running the system file checker, but it hasn't proved successful for this from what I've seen as SFC reports no problems with it:

Well can rerun Hijackthis and check and fix these two entries:
    O2 - BHO: Ask Toolbar BHO - {D4027C7F-154A-4066-A1AD-4243D8127440} - C:\Program Files (x86)\Ask.com\GenericAskToolbar.dll
    O3 - Toolbar: Support.com Toolbar - {D4027C7F-154A-4066-A1AD-4243D8127440} - C:\Program Files (x86)\Ask.com\GenericAskToolbar.dll

Have also ran RKill as suggested...this is the log (if any use to you?)

Processes terminated by Rkill or while it was running:
    C:\Windows\SysWOW64\grpconv.exe

I dont have a windows 7 disc. Laptop is only a few months old and was told that they dont supply the disc anymore and recommended i do a back up...which i did, and put to CD. I really didnt want to go down that line, but seems i may have to. I done a full back up, so does that mean everything (including windows 7 and the Asus rubbish, will be on the back up too)?

Found this solution here but wait for RussJK to comment before taking action.

Look for the key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\wscsvc] using regedit; if it no longer exists the virus must have wiped it. The link to http://cid-9fb18a384ebfc662.office.live.com/self.aspx/.Documents/wscsvc^564^6.zip will take you to a zip file containing new registry information which when downloaded and installed should fix it after a reboot.
