Hitman Pro found one trojan and one malware! Have quarantined them. Kapersky said all was well

Did HitmanPro make a log? Do you remember which files they were?

Might be worth retrying Malwarebytes for a quick scan. Make sure it's updated beforehand.

You should uninstall the Ask Toolbar, as it's spyware.

Minor issue, but if you go into Start, type 'msconfig' and enter, then go to Startups tab, you can untick Quicktime to save a few resources. It'll stop Quicktime autostarting:
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files (x86)\QuickTime\QTTask.exe" -atboottime

Similarly, unless you have the 'realtime guard' activated in Superantispyware, there's no reason for it to autostart:
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [SUPERAntiSpyware] C:\Program Files\SUPERAntiSpyware\SUPERAntiSpyware.exe

Speaking of SAS, might be worth a scan with that too!

GenericAskToolbar needs to go. F2 - REG:system.ini: UserInit=userinit.exe often indicates a problem. I would have said combofix, but having avg on there won't let it run :( Mbam in normal mode if poss as a next step, with RKill first if you can download it/USB stick it across...

    p.s. russ, check your p,m box :)

Didn't make a log no, but the files are something to do with a website my son has been building! 12 years old and thinks he knows it all lol. Just doing another MalwareByte scan now but dont think it has helped. Still cant open anything to do with security :-(. Have even tried installing avast free but once installed says that it cannot be started....or something along those lines

See if running re-enable helps as it can restore the registry entries for system restore: http://www.tangosoft.co.uk/re-enable%20v2.html
Also double check in Start, type services.msc, and look for 'security centre' and make sure it's started, and that it's set to run automatically (delayed start).

Security Centre is set to run auto delayed start, but it isnt started and when i right click and start i get the error message " windows could not start security centre service on local computer. error 126 the specified module could not be found"
