Thanks Sea - was just going to take you up on that, but finally opened all overdue post & I have one as well!

The question is - is a 75% refund from Birmingham Hospital Savings Scheme better value than not spending the 25% in the 1st place  . I need to loo after my eyes though so will be booking test at least.

No news from the scum bag but at least he's had no money from me. But wanted to book a hotel for next month and can't as no credit card till new one arrives  .
    Debt 17 12 06 - £7700. 1st Feb 07 £6903, getting there ;) 1st March 07 £6666 (yikes!) 1st April 07 £6329 17.8% 1st May £6085.48 21%, 1st June £5522.13 28.3%, 1st July £5194.46, 32.54%, 1st Aug £4700, 39%, 1st Sept £4411, 42.7% :j :j:j

  • So, that time again......

    Start £5194.46

    End £4700

    Paid off £494.46 :j :j :j

    So - what's been happening........good things -

Quidco query, of £120 which was resolved last month, got paid - :T :T . Lovely surprise as last time I'd checked I was getting paid £28, ended up with £148!!!!!

Got a few hotel bookings for work with quidco so around £20 from that.
Started training with 82ask!!!!! :T :T :T :T Have just finished last set -hopefully will pass but not too confident :o.

Sold a few books on Green Metropolis, just requested £10.

    5 MORE SLEEPS TILL HOLIDAY!!!!!!!!

    Bad things -

STILL not booked eye test. However, shame of writing this drove me to their website & have booked appt - they need to confirm. So, nearly there :o

No mystery shops. Am concentrating (hopefully) on 82ask. We'll see.

DS has managed to pay me several hundred pounds but borrow back almost the same amount .

Is this good or bad :confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:.........Spent £173.25 on garden furniture. But - really [strike]wanted[/strike] needed it - green plastic vv crummy. And was reduced from £400 to £200 and I used £5 downloaded voucher & em...... dishonestly obtained 10% off Focus card :o:o:o:o:o:o. Can pay for next month without increasing debt. So, it's done....... Also, have passed on existing set on freecycle - AND I'm delivering it, so that must count for something.......:A.

    That's it for now.

Where you off to then in 5 sleeps?
Take it your weather must be better than ours to justify garden furniture!

  • OK, monthly update.......

£289 paid of, leaving balance of £4411, 42.7% paid off :j:j:j:j:j:j.

    Good:

    - paid off that although had to pay for last month's garden furniture & hol spends
    - got through initial training with 82ask, now onto shadowing :T:T
    - got paid by 82ask (only £38, but still :D)
    - had fab holiday, MSE style, kept within budget :T:T:T:T:T
    - £87 profit + £50 cash back to come from lovely, lovely, lovely SS
    kiss.jpg
    Bad:

    - spent £227 on 2 pairs of glasses :eek::eek::eek: (but 75% back from BHSF :T:T:T:T:T), and have been nagging self to do for ages.
    - feel I'm treading water till DD & DS go back to uni - spending soooo much on crap
    - quidco v slow & not done any mystery shops.

    Plan:

    - [strike]dump kids back at uni [/strike] take darling children back to uni with a tear in my eye ;)

    - get to grips with 82ask, plan out hours I can do with them & start earning money :T:T:T:T:T
    - store cupboard challenge- eat out of freezer for ever, soooooo much food in there. Also tins of crap in cupboard - I WILL be brave enough to have alphabetti spaghetti for lunch at work!!!!
    - start diet in earnest, combined with 20 mins a day on new exercise bike - £89 Argos, £63 on line with 3% cash back :T:T:T:T
    - stop treading water. Need £561 to reach 50%. Will do by end of Nov (realistically can't do earlier as DD & DS need rent money for uni, plus cupboards stocked etc). But SS's money will be in shortly so that's a start.

    Have a good month folks!

  • Am I really a bad mother? Much as I love them I can't believe I'm the only one who's counting the days  .

    Why? Let's see......

    * Flannels. 5 used flannels in the bathroom. 5! Both use a different one each day, but don't get rid of the old ones. Flannels in future will be like controlled stationery. Bring back the old, used, one before a new one is issued.

    * Cutlery drawer. Why, when they actually manage to unload the dishwasher, does 1/2 the cutlery go in upside down? Is it really that difficult?

    * Bed clothes. Why have I just been shopping to buy 2 new quilt covers for each of them when both are quite happy to sleep with no quilt cover & pillow cases when they can't be bothered making their beds up  .

    * Toilet rolls. Unless they are selling them on ebay they must be eating them.

    * Dinner. Why, when I've taken something out of the freezer so it can't be refrozen, do they decide those are the nights they're not hungry?

    * Washing. How come they can make 12 Bold tablets least all term time, but the wash basket is full all summer?

    * Shopping. Why does it cost so much? Why have I just spent a fortune on shopping for them to take back, then give them money to stock up fridge and exOH manages to give them nothing?

    * Eating out. Why were they so keen to go out for a curry till I pointed out maybe it was their turn to treat me on account of the above? Then they decided they didn't fancy after all...

Kids! Who'd have them :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

You see this is a reason to never have any of my own. They are lovely aged 4, but then they grow up. And for reference:

I paid my own way through uni, always did my own washing and I frequently buy flowers/dinner for my Mum (although less now she knows about my debt)

So perhaps we kids aren't all bad. But you love them anyway!!

I love the loo rolls by the way, maybe it's the way forward.... the ebay loo roll shop... Hmmmmmm
    Current debt - £16,300 :(
    Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek:
:ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A
