Just did an ipoints mini-poll - are you good with money - automatically answered yes :T :T :T :T :T :T yay me!!!!! Not been posting but lurking a lot, lots of good news and good advice.
Keep going peeps!!!!!!
Am still slogging away. Ate all the yorkshires and rhubarb. Now focussing on steak & veg pies
DK who bought them...... sure it wasn't me.....
Excitedly watching ebay - 4 items (total cost to me about £5 10 yrs ago for 1 of them!) selling tomorrow night - £14.17!!!!! And 22 watchers!!!!! :j :j :j :j (Obviously most are MSE'ers seeing what they can get for [STRIKE]a load of old rubbish [/STRIKE] wonderful, useful objects.)
Have had 1 mini splurge today - splashed out £2.78 on ebay to buy a compass!!!!!!! Am pants at working out what way a house faces and as I am determined to buy my dream cottage this will help me make sure it is south facing.
Also asked a very nice builder :happyhear if I could have a chimney pot he'd just put in a skip - he not only said yes but put it in my car for me! So, I have the compass, I have the tumbling tom chimney pot, just need to pay off debt, save up for moving costs and I can have the cottage as well.......:rolleyes:Debt 17 12 06 - £7700. 1st Feb 07 £6903, getting there

Hi Auntie B :hello:
I've been reading this thread with interest and was struck by how warm and positive you are. You seem very upbeat and everything is interjected with humour.
Well done you, keep up the good work.
Best wishes for the future xxIts nice to be important but more important to be nice!0 -
auntie_brenda wrote:Have joined savings plan for glasses and dentist. After a year will cover osteopath. £17.99 a month, should save me £15 a month.
I'm so disappointed you've already taken out this plan can you cancel. HSA covered my existing condition and I could claim my on going osteo apts from the day I signed up, also I believe you get cashback if you go via quidco. Have a look at cancelling the one you took out.0 -

I did a comparison and thought it was excluded, just checked and it says for hospital treatment  AAARRRGGGGHHHHH. OK, will look into this further and compare benefits as mainly for glasses and dental I need it. Won't cancel right away as just passed joining period and got dentist booked, also need new glasses. Ok, have decided to do a Sunday night update (not next week though cos on a girlie weekend
).
So, good things this week:
- Compass arrived! So can now check garden of dream house.
- £126.13 mortgage exit fee from C & G refunded!!!!!!!!! Straight into savings account to earn interest till 0% ccard finishes :j :j :j :j Thanks Martin :T :T :T :T
- Last week's ebay - over £50 including postage, 1 PO, rest paypal so £50 transferred into bank and still £20 in paypal towards next £50 :T :T :T .
- 2 more items listed, selling for total of £4.01!!!!!!!
Bad things this week:
- spent £49.95 in M & S on clothes  . Oops. But, really needed new jacket. And covered by paypal, but no excuse.........
- bought 1 breakfast & 2 lunches, around £8     . V annoyed about this as was in work so could/should have taken in own. :doh:Also bought other lunch out but working away so is ok by me.....
Plans for this week:
- Stop being naughty!!!!! Get a grip Auntie B!!!!!
- 2 days office 2 days with clients, 4 packed lunches using whatever is in fridge.
- 3 no spend days.
- if no payment from mystery shopping by Weds then email them. Owed £50
- book opticians for March (need decent sunglasses for driving), then investigate HSA fully.
OK peeps, see you in 2 weeks......Debt 17 12 06 - £7700. 1st Feb 07 £6903, getting there

Ooopppss naughty me, not updating (not that anyone cares but me  ).
OK, so progress since last post:
Good - Ebay - been quite successful. Now scraping the barrel and if clothes on there don't sell they're going straight to charity shop. Forgot to add a reserve to something that's worth £60 and there is only 1 bid so far, for 99p:eek: . Can't add reserve as already had a bid. So come on you 11 watchers!!!!!!!
Good - withdrew £130 from paypal and another £45 in there so should be able to withdraw £50 next week. £130 straight to debts, along with £10 Green Metropolis, £4.20 ebay cheque, £60 mystery shopping, £12.86 quidco. :T :T :T
Good - Abbey repaid £34 redemption penalty, straight to debts :T :T :T
Good - have been v good at using stuff from freezer and meal planning. Currently emptying freezer as DS back from S America in 2 weeks so need to restock with bigger portions!!!!! Will be having massive cook-in over Easter. (People at work talking about their plans and I'm getting excited about using my slow cooker for 4 days running. Note to self - GET OUT MORE!!!!!!!)
Good - discovered gammon shanks, £1.39 :j :j :j :j
Good - also v good at taking lunches into work. Can't find little flask though. 1 tidy up too many methinks, is probably under ironing
Goodish - Yorkshire Bank written to say looking in to complaint about redemption charge.
Bad - DS asked for emergency top up of £300. So all good work above undone. Yes, I could have said no, however as he's out there doing stuff he might as well do a bit more and get more experiences under his belt. Straight down the agency when he gets back to get a job till he goes back to uni. He will be paying me back everything he's borrowed before he goes back to uni. And I will be charging him board. So, that will be £100ish a week before he saves anything to pay off his other debts. And has a life. I am a priority debtor and will be taking advice about scariest DCA if he doesn't cough up! (Although threat to send him to live with dad will probably work better
)
So, more good than bad :T :T :T :T Having quite a few no spend days and seriously planning ahead. Pay day next Monday and will not be overdrawn :T :T :T :T . Money off debt then. Wish I'd got the hang of this years ago!!!!Debt 17 12 06 - £7700. 1st Feb 07 £6903, getting there

Well done Auntie B. Just a thought... you could try carbooting the clothes that don't sell on ebay rather than taking them to the charity shop.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

So much for my weekly updates
. OK a fairly decent month debt wise.
Good - lovely quidco keep giving me money :kisses3:.
Good - DS back from South America (yeah!!!!) and will be put to work next week to pay me back what he owes me (what's the definition of a priority debt? One that keeps a roof over your head and food on the table? That would be me then ).
Good - boought 'kids' (19 & 21!!!!!) Easter Eggs - @ 99p each!!!!!
Good - carrying on with menu planning and taking lunch into work.
Good - £130ish coming back from water company as underused. (Bad - b*ggers haven't sent it yet)
Goodish - Have 2 dental appointments coming up at cost of £160  , glad I took out savings plan now. Will also be booking opticians as eye test due (but want BOGOF offer naturally so am waiting). Then will be cancelling and switching to HSA as advised.
Possibly v bad.....- last night I dreamt I touched my front wheel and it fell off, taking brakes with it........ hmmmm, need to have a look and make sure tyres at least are ok. (Maybe even put air in them as it's Easter
). I've done around 30,000 on them......
Bad - bought fish & chips last night £4.10
So, off to update signature....... Just over £300 offDebt 17 12 06 - £7700. 1st Feb 07 £6903, getting there
