Bought an item from china...uh oh

Bought a couple of dresses from a chinese eBay seller (value was £120 for both dresses inc postage).

The seller sent them registered mail and I got a royal mail tracking number. I haven't received the dresses but the seller said they have been delivered and the address the seller gave is in the same town but completely different to my address.

Where do I stand?

PayPal/Ebay won't let me open a dispute until 3rd July.

If they've sent to the wrong address then open a Paypal INR on 03/07, unless they arrive by then.
I must be missing something here, how can something be sent RM from China? Or does it get into the UK registered with another carrier & then picked up by RM?
Have you put the tracking number that the seller gave into the RM website?
If so what is it showing?

But if they submit the tracking number on the paypal dispute, the tracking number will just show that it's been delivered won't it? It won't show what address it was posted to.

I was a bit confused about the tracking number too because they sent the RM tracking number then day they 'dispatched' it, so presumably, they pre-book the tracking number and when it reaches the UK, it gets collected by RM and they slap the tracking number on it.

I have tried tracking it and the tracking status is Delivered and the detail says:

We have a record of item xxxxxxxxxxxxxx as being delivered from Saltash DO on 2011-06-15.

Saltash is in Cornwall and I'm from Lancashire so not even close.

When they put the trcking number into your dispute, reply and point out it's a uk tracking number, not a chinese one.
(Unless the chinese are now running sweatshops in Cornwall, in some ironic twist of economic fate).

    Oh, near me too!

OP. The seller may win a dispute but only initially. You need to add clearly that the delivery shows SALTASH and you are in WHATEVERTOWN. Highlight it as big as you can.

Do NOT go for an ebay dispute, ensure it is a Paypal dispute, you should be able to open it much sooner.
