If you have no money then you are going to struggle. How are you going to buy stock? What is the business you are looking to start?

I have bought the stock already, when that sells (which it is) i can buy more stock.
I have already told all the relivant people that i have started my own business.

If I were you, I would wait for the website and use Facebook for the time being until you have the money to get someone to do it for you. Your website is your shop window and should not be based on a freebie web host that could lose your data in one fail swoop.

Plus the fact a free site will have zero security and your expecting people to hand over personal data and payment info......I don't think so.

I use frooly.com - It looks good, and they only sell commession on what sells, and I've had a few sales on it. You pay extra if you want your own domain or if you want to sell but I think its worth it

I am a stay at home mum to a 3 year old and a 6 year old. I have no savings at all and wanted to start a business from home that i could manage with 2 small children. The type of business im looking to do is to work around them, and have my youngest with me when she is not in nursey. I dont have alot of money which is why i posted. Im basically started from nothing, and trying to make it work. I understand that i would have to pay to get a website, but just wondered if there was a free very basic one i could do for the time being to advertise what i am doing. When i am able to pay for one then i will be doing that. Thanks everyone for the help and the comments x

https://www.moonfruit.com is a good host I have used it to build several websites. The basic free account allows you to have 20mb storage, 15 pages and 1gb of bandwidth per month.

Along with templates that are not exactly professional looking. These sort of sites should never be used for any type of business. They are only suitable for personal use.

I don't totally agree with you there. Templates have come on a fair way in the last couple of years, the problem with some hosts is the limitations of the templates and the limited number of templates. You do end up with a site that atleast another 100 people have but with different content.

If you are using at a splash page or webvert as mentioned earlier it will do the job but I would only use for that purpose if the expected visitors was low, i'm talking less than 50 people a week. I would still use my own domain as anything that is a subdomain of google say looks very tacky.

There are far better alternatives like wordpress for example that can be had for the same cost, but you do need to learn how to use it (not that is that hard). The limitations are extended beyond a lot of these standard templates, even though you can still use templates (as you know).

I suppose it does come down to what the site is for really and the expected visitors.

What does everyone think of "Create" for making a website?

I would be interested in your views as I have thought of using them.
