    30ish - why?

Only cos if you were 60ish I'd be suggesting different things to those I'd suggest to a 19 year old. You're roughly the same age as my husband- he does things like football, golf, helps out at a youth club, plays poker...

Really not into sports, if I was then I'd get on great with just about everyone. Guys always seem to like football but not me.

Over 30, I think the time is over for finding true friends. Aquaintances/chums/pals/ maybe, but someone who would get out of bed at 3am on a winters night to help tow your broken down car home for free, almost impossible I'd say.

Thanks for that. I wonder, does everyone else agree?

well if you want to accidently !!!! the verb and do something for amusement that i understand is a trolling past time, from the link on your other thread, i would suggest using a different forum or even username if you really must do it, before asking for help on a serious problem!!!
The replies to the 'I accidentally' meme (legalblonde, if you want more info, follow the link on the i accidentally thread) had me in stitches, and was very refreshing! It shows that the OP has a sense of humour!

I can sympathise with the OP - I work a lot from home, and the hours often creep into evenings & weekends, plus I have moved so much lately it's difficult starting up again with joining groups. I know I should, and will make a concerted effort - all my other friends are out of the area, and while I stay in touch, it would be nice to see an actual person everyonce in a while.

Kudos to the OP in asking for ideas here - and good luck!

  • I'd start with, then if that doesn't work out I'd go to.
Most of my friends I made at or , and they are the best friends I've ever had.
I don't have any friends since I, but thats mainly because I alot, I do speak to at the, but they're alot than me so we don't have much in common.
I'd say joining a club would be as you have to to people.

    Good Luck!

I did click the link, that's how I know what it is! I agree it did make me smirk but mostly other people's responses not the OP.

OP I think you are a bit of a wind up merchant. I'm out.

That was the whole point, it was all about the responses.

So we can't have a laugh then address a serious issue? It's a pity but if you are that narrowly focussed then I'm probably not going to get decent advice from you anyway.
