should i mention that the ice cream tubs in the freezer cabinets had alot of frost on them or is this acceptable? i wouldnt have bought them even though it was only frost. (supermarket shop)

would suggest to me that they have defrosted a little and refroze at some point, which in turn if open freezers could mean a fault at some point which could mean the products are possibly not in "ideal" resale condition if were badly melted, or if door ones, that the door has been left open by a customer possibly.

cant advise either way as dont know the brief but the above may be helpful in deciding.

Ooooops! It said FEMALES ONLY so I assumed they were panties. LOL. Shame I can't do the one I alerted SARALEIGH about as I am there tomorrow. Oh well.

Thats why I don't have a job lined up for tomorrow then lol
I get what i want. That isn't because i'm a brat or spoilt. It's because i'm determined, i work hard for it and i achieve my goals!
  • Anyone done the GFK phone audits, the ones that are supposed to take an hour with the planograms? How long do they take on average as I think I've overcommitted!!!
  • Hi all, I'm new here. I found your forum after replying to an ad in my local paper asking for shoppers.

After 10 days I've had a reply offering me 3 assignments and what sounds to me like a rather to good to be true rate of pay (money in advance too, followed by a bonus when complete!)

I note we are asked not to state rates, but could anyone advise if this is likely to be a scam and what the "usual" rates are?

The email appears to be from an individual rather than a company. I've Googled him and he seems to be advertising all over the country. I can't find anything adverse about him on line.

    Thank you for your help

    Let me guess?
He sends you a cheque and you do the job then send the balance left back to someone by Western Union??? Only thing is the cheque then bounces and you're seriously out of pocket.
But, think about it, why would they send you money in advance?? What's to stop you doing the job and pocketing the money?? Is it one of the companies on the first page of this thread? If not, more than likely a scam
  • Hey guys I’m just about to sign up to do this but I have a few questions before I do

If you have to apply as self employed and have a certificate of small earning AND providing you earn less than £5,075 I take it there is nothing to pay in either tax or NI.

Is this correct? So we are basically fill in the forms so everything is ‘legal’ but don’t actually have to pay tax or NI????

    And my second question is…….
Can I use 2 accounts, one to buy the products, and one to receive payments from the company?

I ask because I have 2 accounts 1 I have a debit card for, the other is just an ATM card. I will be using the debt card to make the purchases and get paid into the account into the account which just has an ATM cared.

(it’s just an ATM account so I can’t use it on the internet, bit like a ‘rainy day fund’ =) )

Is this ok? Or do the payments have to come from the same account as they go in because I know on a receipt it will say I have paid with my card.

As a side note to this, I presume that things HAVE to be paid for by card to verify that it is us that bought the products as cash has no paper trail.

    Thanks in advance

I had the same problem! I must have phoned them 4 or 5 times now and just got told "We're sorting it", but when I got paid they hadn't sorted it at all.

I got paid the same amount for a 45 minute call as a 1 hour 10 minute call, but for a 40 minute call they decreased the pay . So they've obviously never heard of swings and roundabouts.

I thought it was very convenient how they knew of the problem of the extra payments not being added on for nearly a month, then finally added them I think the day before the payment was due to be made - then those figures are still less than they should be!

I tried again today, upon explaining that this was the 4th contact I've made with them, and firmly (whilst trying to remain polite!) stated that I would like an answer now, the lady said "Is that [my first name]?" :rotfl: She said they were looking into it and would get back to me as soon as they knew. Of course you will, love.

Not entirely sure how much "looking into" is involves in "The brief says I will be paid at £x.xx per hour after 45 minutes. [Visit 1 and Visit 2] I was paid £y.yy and £z.zz respectively when I spent the exact same amount extra in store (20 minutes). However, by my calculations, 20 minutes at a rate of £x.xx per hours equals £a.aa, not £y.yy or £z.zz. Likewise, I was paid £b.bb for [Visit 3], but 26 minutes at a rate of £x.xx actually equals £c.cc."

I don't care if it's only a few quid, I'm getting what I'm darn well entitled to! I suggest any else that did these assignments double-checks what (if any) additional pay they got too.
  • Ah, thanks Serendipity, that will be it. It wouldn't have caught me because from previous business experience, I never send money anywhere until I know a cheque has cleared, but I expect there would have been a lot of pressure to send it quickly etc. If something sounds too good to be true....

This guy has literally hundreds of ads out there though. Something should be done!! Thank you for your help.

If the only money you earn is through Mystery Shopping (ie you aren't employed as well) then you will pay no tax up to £7,475 I think the personal allowance is now.

If you have to buy products as part of the mystery shop then it is up to you how you pay. I have two bank accounts and use either interchangeably. Or I pay with cash. You will often need to submit a receipt, but it doesn't matter how you pay for it.
