Has anybody been paid by JKS recently or able to contact them.

I have emailed several times and left messages on the answerphone to no avail. I am very disappointed and think that this is morally so wrong, if my day job did not pay on time there would be an uproar but because it is "only" mystery shopping we are expected to wait to way pass the pay date. What happens to the interest the company is getting by having the money sitting in their account. Despite Gaps faults (and I no longer work for them) at least they would advise that payment would be late. A simple reply to one of my emails from JKS explaining that there is a delay would go a long way. I am more cross at the fact that you can not get a reply to an email than the money. However on another point, many years ago after separating from my first husband I had no money not a bean, I had two children to feed and would sometimes feed them and not myself. (and yes I chose to work to provide for the children but what with rent etc we were broke!) What if someone else was waiting on JKS money to feed their kids?

Anyway that is the rant over!

They pay 31 working days after you complete a job, but this is not a reliable date. My experience is that you send an email, you don't get a reply (whether they are on holiday or not) and then your pay appears from JKS LTD ******* where * is the assignment you completed about 7 days later.

More and more of the smaller companies are ignoring pay enquiries and just paying so I think they must be just paying when they can afford too. I don't want to tar them all with the same brush but just an observation.
  • Either GR have got some new proof readers or I had a really bad week last week. In 4 years I have never had a proof reading query from GR, got 3 for jobs from last week!! none of them were stupid RE type "how did it make you feel" either. Its a good job I am going on holiday next week I think I need it.

In a word no. £5 will not last 15 minutes. I suggest you go in and have a loiter... fanny about looking at the football bets as there are a few games on tomorrow night. Ask to use the toilet. That will kill 3-4 minutes. Then go and sit at the machine. put some money in. play £1 on one game go back to main menu and play a couple of different ones if you want. I had a bet to cash on a betting job I did at the weekend today which helped. I would say just play slowly! If roulette will let you do 50p bets then play that game. There are a load of different games on the one machine.

Hope it all goes well! Its really not difficult and easier to do the reports than the normal betting ones.

Thank you so much. I have a plan of action now!

Did a GR MS recently myself - not had anything back yet - though tbh after reading on here about proof readers I wouldn't be surprised if they take exception :) but I'm the eternal pessimist anyways :)

hope you enjoy your holiday hun x

IMHO I think GR have some of the best proof readers around, or maybe the worst depending on your point of view as they never seem to query anything.

spray sticky thing and thing sticking it to with water from a spray bottle with a little washing up liquid. I failed to do this, only doing the thing it was being stuck to yesterday, but today SOOO much quicker and completed 10 in 3 hours :money: And be prepared to be asked questions about it all from the retailers, refer them to their info folders and say more info will be coming soon. Also dont be surprised that you have to chop pieces to fit tiny gaps available , so be inventive and creative and read the updated dress code. I gave some feedback that that the first was unrealistic for the nature of the job so they have updated accordingly.

    Cheers.look forward to it.
  • Had a GR proofreader call me the other week, I swear it must have been her first day on the job! :rotfl:

Conversation went a little like this...

Her: So you say you were served at the counter by [Jane], is this the same MOS that you made an enquiry to on the shop floor?
Me: Erm, no, that was [Sarah] - as I did state quite clearly on the questionnaire.*
    Her: Oh... right, OK, thanks.

*It was the question directly before where I said who served me at the counter. There were two seperate questions asking who I spoke to on the shop floor and who served me at the counter. There's no way I missed it out as GR free text questions have a minimum character limit, plus I do double-check these things. A most bizarre call!

I lost a proofreading point on something very similar. What was the name of the MOS on the shop floor in the section that you did not make an enquiry in? Ans: I don't know name badge was partially hidden by the MOS's long hair as stated in the answer along with a detailed description of the MOS. As if I'm going to go around all the sections and ask everyone's name without having to make an enquiry. I was only asked to make one enquiry in a specific section and just look through the other sections. I think next time I'll say no MOS in section. I just have this thing against looking at womens chest area when I am not even going to ask them a question.

I've had to contact them several times to get a reply about payment. I was told by Sue to contact Barry (can give you email address if you require it) when he gets back from holiday in a couple of days. My jobs from 2 months back are apparently in the process of being paid but shall see. Hope that's helpful.

I know what you mean about little companies paying... they don't get it though I mean if their salary was late they would be MAD. I think companies don't take it so seriously about paying well some of them anyway. I also think most of them don't realise some people use this to make a living. I try to stick with the big ones and use the little companies as top ups.

PS, Update on BARE: Got someone looking into why people have been marked paid with no money.
