I was thinking of applying but they want me to send them my actual passport, not a photo copy or pdf.
I don't think I would be happy to do this for any company. Even when starting a 'real' job when they take a photocopy of your passport, they do it there and then infront of me, and I don't think I'd be happy to let them take it away or keep it for any time.
What is their reasoning behind wanting it?Half of November Make £10 a Day Challenge: £51/ £1700 -
From what I have heard, a lot of shops (ethical shop, bowling, kitchen and a few others) have gone back to the original companies they were being mystery shopped by.
Who do you think these other original companies are?So RE won't have many clients soon. Wooohoooooo!
I'm not seeing many jobs either. Although having said that this week I've signed up for five airside airport jobs next month. Should help pass the time while I'm waiting in the departure lounge!0 -

Why woohoo?
I believe all the other companies are listed on the first page, take a look and sign up to some. It's a woohoo because most other companies pass on a little more money to the shoppers than RE do, and ask for a much less tedious report too. If you've only limited yourself to RE at the moment then I think it will be quite enlightening for you to see how other companies work0 -

Thanks. I've signed up to GrassRoots but still waiting to hear from them.
I'm aware they are listed on the first page, but it would be ridiculous to attempt signing up to ALL of them, so I was just trying to get a better view on which ones to sign up for.0 -

All of the companies have jobs, so it doesn't really matter too much. Companies that I would say have lots of UK wide jobs would be RE, Grassroots (add lots of postcodes of local shopping centres when they accept you), Gapbuster, REACT, GfK, ABAi, BARE, ESA and TNS.
You've done the right thing to start off slowly, but in reality it's actually sensible to sign up to as many companies as possible! Once you settle into things you might be able to start picking up a job from one company and a different one down the road from another company.0 -

I would not say register for them all at once..
I signed up for a couple initially and then over time added new ones, mostly based on what I picked up on here as ones that were good or not so good.0 -
Thanks for the info
I'm getting into the swing of things now, so I'll see how Grassroots goes assuming they accept me, and then go from there :cool:0 -

Depending on where you live (and what post codes you have entered for your other location) you might find that you do not see that many jobs with Grassroutes. I like them as a MS company as their reports are well written and logical to do, however I do not find I get offered that much from them.0 -

No, it isn't. They are all different and as time goes by, you'll find some jobs with all of them. If I stuck to one or two companies, I'd only have done a few jobs by now. I think I must be signed up to over 20 or 30 now and I only regularly work for less than 10 and it's ever decreasing. I think I will end up working for a couple of companies only but they are ones I like, who pay well and are nice to me.0
