    Thanks Yonk,
I know I have problem with tenses probably because I have never learn english. I came here only for a holliday 3 years ago and I met english guy and we are very happy so I decided to stay. At the begining we even couldnt speak with each other. I learnt english speaking with people and working in a shop. In my previous job I was working as an Electronics Enginner and my english wasnt a problem there. Fingers crossed I will find a new job soon :))

As the others have said, your english really is good - I only noticed it because you used the tense will, where a native speaker would use 'would'. It's a minor thing, and doesn't get in the way of understanding what you are saying. But so many MS companies demand perfection, and will avoid allocating work because of things like this.

I stand corrected by HappyMJ about self employment and JSA. They are right, I am wrong. Good luck with the job search. I've been there myself and it sucks.

Still not had react payment. Still showing as pending payment. there was a time they paid on the right day or just before. oooh ay!

I think they are also extracting the urine with the cut off dates as well. One job I have been paid for was 6 days after 3 others for the same client and they have managed to pay me for the 1 but not the other 3! Far from impressed
  • Has TNS lost the airport client?

Usually they are out two months in advance but I haven't seen anything yet for September and I was looking to pick a few up.
  • I'm also awaiting payment from React despite my Shopper Log saying I got paid on the 12th. Funny how the delay comes when there's a three-figure sum involved! :rotfl:

Though TBF, this is for two days of the Time & Motion Study I did with them last month and they paid me quite quickly for the other two days (must've been the cut-off point, I'm losing track of whose cut-off and pay dates are when!) and that was a very similar sum, so I'm optimistic in thinking it will be in my account in the next day or two. If not, a polite enquiry email to Ted be it! :D

Nanaw, I think it's certainly worth trying - if I were a company using MS, I'd want to know how my staff treat people of different nationalities (and those whose English is not great), as well as age, race, disability, etc. As said before, your English is quite good, and you can always ask your fiance or a friend to proof-read for any major errors.

I leave in a small city and probably there will be no MS assignments here. How far do you usually travel? Is it worth if they pay ex £10 for the job? thanks

I know this is slightly off topic, but something that may be worh considering is an Adult Literacy course. I work in education and I know this has helped many students who come from non english speaking countries find work, as I don't know your personal circumstances I couldn't be sure whether you would have to pay or not, but it may be worth enquiring at your local College? I hope this sounds helpful and not patronising!

Good luck with saving for the wedding. :)
Well, you can tell by the way I use my walk

Hi Superliss, thanks for your post. I tried to get an english course at the college a few times but I didnt get it. You need to pass a test and be lucky enough that there will be a space for you on this course. Unfortunately every time I had tried there wasnt space available. And because untill now I was working full time, I only could apply to the evening courses. Also they were telling me that because my english it quite good and I have a good job I have less chances to be accepted. I tried to learn at home but its not the same.

Well, this particular case was a bit different - I did four afternoons doing a Time and Motion Study for React International for six hours each day. Someone who has been with React for longer than I have may be able to tell us if these come up often or were just a one-off!

I have managed to get three-figure sums in a fortnight just from regular MS work, although this involves a lot of work, and not much spare time when all the reports are done! :D On these occasions, I will have at least one job nearly every day (including weekends), sometimes up to 4 or 5. For places a little further from home, where I need to drive to, I try to do visits in the same area or nearby on the same day, to reduce petrol costs.

With my fiance we are trying to save some money for a wedding so I was very upset when I lost a job. Maybe when I will find a new one I will try to do MS just to save some extra money. Or I will ask my fiance to do that as he is english so his written english will be perfect. Each £ counts :)

I proofread for a Spanish native translator, as whilst she can translate (has several degrees), her English is far from perfect and it's her tenses & prepositions that go awry also. You are doing great if you've never formally learnt English.

No native speakers' English is perfect either as I get pulled up on my grammar by one particular company and I'm fairly literate.

I would advertise on Gumtree as they have a language skill swap section and then practice would be free. :D
