Mirror a few of us have growth scans to check on the size of baby. I've had a previous 9lb 12oz baby so they check me every 4 weeks! You could have been measuring a little bigger if baby was pushing right up into your bump. Sometimes I go to the mw and he's pushed right up then the other day my stomach was virtually flat lol! So the measurements aren't very accurate from the tape measure

  • ahhh ok, ive had a 6lb 4oz and 7lb 3oz so dont think i would get away with convincing them for a growth scan then lol

i sat in the car today and told hubby i didnt think this was a good idea anymore and he just laughed at me. im starting to think about it now oops
now proud mum to 3 handsome boys :j latest one born 10/10/11:j
  • Afternoon all.

Had our 20week scan yesterday, was so good to see our little bubba, but it turns out it's a stubborn little sausage like OH and wouldn't let radiographer get good pics of the heart. I ended up being scanned stood up and laid on my side and allsorts, was very amusing. Got them in the end, and it did mean we were in scanning room for over 25minutes.

Also, it turns out that after 14 girls, and one boy in our family, we will be expecting....

A little boy!!!!!! We were so shocked but so happy :)

Was also a good day because both the parking machine and the scan pic machine were out of order, and they were giving out armfuls of bounty packs as we left. So didn't cost us the fortune we expected.

Good luck to Twinkle for today. X

BTW Hayley, any idea when the SMP rules changed to start on any day? Might be handy to quote at the HR nazi's when i ring them, if you happen to know..

    Thanks!

I don't belong here (next year hopefully) but I think I can answer that

This keeps talking about April 2007 and it has a paragraph about it changing from Sunday to any day
    http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/employers/statutory-payments-changes.htm
Start date of the Maternity Pay Period
Currently the first day of the SMP payment period will either be a Sunday or, where the start of a woman’s maternity leave and pay is triggered by the birth of the baby or by a pregnancy related illness, the day after the birth or the day after the first day of absence from work for such illness.

Providing an “any day start” rather than a Sunday start date will allow women to start their maternity pay on the day their maternity leave begins, rather than the Sunday after their last day at work. This will align the start of SMP with that of maternity leave and also with the “any day” start date of Statutory Paternity Pay and Statutory Adoption Pay.

The start of the maternity pay period will not be changed for cases which are triggered by the birth of the baby or pregnancy illness.

Congrats Redhead, how nice for you....

Must be near the date on the Bounty packs? There was a lady giving them out in the hospital today too, so I got another one.
  • Congratulations on team blue Redhead :)

Just back from the consultants. He wants to leave me another 3 weeks to see if baby makes an entrance on his own and then they'll "think" about inducing me at 39 weeks "if I can't take anymore". How much more do they think I can take?

    I literally cannot stop crying.

Awwww Winnie :( massive hugs to you.

I went to my mums, she had to get petrol so we went to tesco to get petrol but she had left her purse at home and didn't realise until she'd put the fuel in and I didn't have enough money in mine, cue many trips in and out of the kiosk and digging all the change out of the car and eventually having to pay a lot of it in change and £2 odd on my bank card :rotfl:

  • Sorry ladies but Im afraid Im about to (hopefully) queue jump. Went for a sweep this morning and they're not happy with how big baby has got so am going back at 6pm to be induced.
Not entirely sure how I feel but I guess that's what's happening so no point worrying!
sorry i read back but can't remember anything!
