    Hello ladies

Massive labour vibes to the boldies

I fell down the stairs last night - top to bottom - on my arris. Called the hospital and they said baby would be fine; just me that would be hurt - too right - have awful shiners all over me! Not a bright idea at 38+3 - half expecting it to bring on labour! It was such a shock :(

Quiet day at home for me today - bit of cleaning, bit of knitting and watching tv I think.

    xDx

Hope your quiet day is paying off and you are resting and that you are not feeling too sore!

Day 3 on the induction ward and feeling fed up! Unfortunately everyone else in the area is going into labour so they have no beds or midwives to break my waters. Please send labour vibes so I can queue jump!

    Labour vibes to the boldies..

Massive labour vibes really hope you are started off soon!!!

Sorry everyone is having a rough time - i think that the moany posts (from my point of view) are because i dont want to moan at OH or friends because they are not as open to my random pregnancy hormones where as i know you guys will understand.

39 + 3 and think we have some signs, have been having period pain type cramps since 9:30 last night coming and going in waves (am assuming its not contractions because my bump isnt hardening like it did with BH) Elvis is wriggling around like mad which is good becuase i was worrying there was something wrong.

I'm hoping that Elvis holds off until friday because then i wont lose any holiday to maternity leave, but if they are ready to come now then so be it.

I must admit i am getting very nervous now about what is going to happen but am trying not to stress, i have MW tomorrow morning so am going to play it by ear until then and see what she says.

    Puzzled

Oh and can I just say I HATE MY ELEPHANT FEET :(
I'm 36+4 weeks and thought I should be seeing the midwife weekly by now but she told me this morning that she'll see me again in a fortnight?
    C xx

    I have elephant feet too!!!

My midwife is still seeing me every 2 weeks and im 39+3 so i think its dependant on area and on how well you are doing - i know mine always says when booking the next appointment that if i need her before just call

i was an 8/9 and now am a 9/10 (or some unrecognisable size as i have stretched a pair out of shape lol

I am just hoping they go back down again, its a nightmare trying to buy shoes lol
  • I had a nice moan-free day yesterday, lunch with my midwife bezzie mate who will be delivering Ella so we had a chance for a nice catch up and a goss, a mooch round town and the library which included giving £20 to pay for something and inadvertantly getting £26.45 change which I noticed afterwards. So I decided to take myself to the cinema for a couple of hours of nice relaxing time, used the 40% off voucher for ticket, and points for the popcorn etc so cost the grand total of £4.56! Made myself a nice tea, then popped out to watch my netball team play. No grumbles at all!

Today has involved a bit of tidying, and carrying on the cooking of stuff for the freezer to be a bit more prepared. Wednesdays are now very busy after school for DS, leave school at 3.15, swimming lesson at 4.30, Beavers at 6.15. It's not going to be forever and he doesn't seem to mind, just needs a bit of organising. OH is away all week on a course so evenings are just me+sofa+sewing+tv+laptop which isn't a bad thing!

I'm starting to realise how lucky I am because I have never had varicose veins or elephant feet! I'd really begrudge buying new shoes in a bigger size for a short time :o

How can it make you go up two shoe sizes? I'm sure that happened to someone last year, and they had to cut their flip flops off

:eek: I am lucky that my feet havent got too bad, they are slightly swollen by the end of the day but certainly not to the extent that I need bigger shoes.

My feet actually feel like the skin is going to split open, have found a new way to amuse myself though.. If I rest one foot on the other for a few minutes it creates a giant freaky looking crater on the top :rotfl:

Between 8 quid a day for parking, food from the cafe for hubby and ten quid to watch tv for two days at a time we can no longer afford to have Flump anyway so she might as well stay put :p

AND I excitedly ticked chocolate cup cake on the menu for lunch and they sent me a weeny bit of weird peach cake instead and a 'due to unforeseen circumstances we have had to substitute your item' note!

:rotfl:OH has spent pretty much all day after every hospital appointment complaining about parking charges. He keeps saying he dreads to think how much its going to cost him and I better not be in labour for too long :rotfl:

Have already told him I will be buying him some snacks from home bargains to put in the hospital bag so he doesnt have to pay cafe prices.

Edit: I say 'he' but its actually our money anyway!

That's crazy Bunnyhop! Why have you had to stay in for 3 days? Have you had the pessary and it's not working? With DS2 I had to keep ringing every few hours until they had a bed ready for me. Really wouldn't have liked staying in until they were ready.
