I think car seat to go on pushchairs should be illegal!!

Not sure I would go that far!! But I do agree in that I dont really like seeing babies all scrunched up in car seats - we are having a pram that lies flat :)

Agreed on it being far too hot today!! I really feel for all of you that are further along! I'm 26 weeks and suffering so feel sorry for those much further along!

i agree about babies in the car seat part, that its not good for them.
i think the only time i will use it if im going to the local supermarket, a 3 min drive away.
  • hi all totally agree with the car seat argument i read somewhere that babies shouldnt be in a car seat for more than 2hrs per day max. im having a lie flat pram aswell. its not that difficult to lift them in and out of carseat and put in pram.
its been way too hot today had two cool showers lay on bed then put on sundress with nothing else (was at home lol) not looking forward to work tmrw i work in a kitchen itll be unbearable.
iv been washing all babys stuff this weekend was lovely to see all the little baby gros 7wks + 3 days to go till due date but iv got a wierd feeling bubs isnt gonna wait that long. hope im wrong. have been getting very strong braxton hicks not painful at all but very uncomfortable and at teatime had what i think was a show SORRY TMI was like a small blob of jelly completely clear and havent had anything since so im not too worried baby is jumping around all over so i know its fine and im at hospital on friday for scan anyway.
cant remember who was needing labour vibes but sending them to anyone who needs them.
oh and can anyone tell me when its safe to take raspberry leaf tea in guessing from about 37wks thanks.

Hello ladies (Thought I might find Piggers here:D)

So I think I'm going to jump in,but I'm going to say right now-I am useless keeping up with any thread on a good day.So apologies now.

Im 10 weeks gone with number 3-big surprise as had number 2 last August after 3 years ttc.

I also have cerebral palsy and so my hips and back are useless on a good day-today I felt the twinges start in a big way-so Im after a lumbar belt-anyone have any recommendations please?

I was referred for one with DS2 last year at my bookiing in appointment but because physio and surgical appliances couldnt decide who's responsibility it was-I never got one until a week before I delivered (and I didnt think it was worth the journey to the hospital-different borough-to collect it_.I figured I wont bother with the trouble of it and just get one myself.

Ive bought the Jane Slalom R Matrix System, it has a carrycot that can be made into a car seat so the baby isnt in the car seat all of the time and can lay flat. Seems like a good solution anyway.

You are right it has been far too hot today! I had to go out and buy some ice pops as I had ran out! I just keep eating them all the time even when its cold :rotfl: Managed to get a couple lots of laundry dry before it rained. Its still too hot though and we have had the windows open all day, I just cannot stand the heat!

38 weeks tomorrow :D I dont think I will make it to July 15th to see Harry Potter at the cinema.. but we will see lol.

Probably a bit of a silly question.. but do we always know when we lose our plug? Ive had nothing yet and just wondering thats all, I am a newbie at this pregnancy lark afterall! :o

I agree babies should only be in car seats a short while, but what about slings? I plan to use a sling this time and walk a bit more :o
are babies scrunched up in slings too? (I've not used one before)

  • My blood pressure was a bit high tonight, it's usually 62 or 70 the highest it's ever been is 80 but tonight it was 93 (the bottom number).

There was also a trace of protein in my wee, the doctor didn't seem worried but after my antenatal appointment Thursday where Harrison's heart was beating too fast i'm worried now.

I only went to the out of hours surgery because i've been having chest pains (my lungs) & ran out of my inhaler in the week but have been unable to get another one (all the chemists in my town are out of stock) until Monday.

    Am I over reacting?:o
I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

BCS I'm no medic but I suspect that your worry will be making it all worse. If you're stressing I'd go to A and E and get checked. Have you taken your BP a few times over a course of time? There may have been a reason for it being slightly higher? I'm sure i've read that our BPs rise during pregnancy. Why not try calling NHS direct?

Easy to say but try and keep calm and as relaxed as poss

ETA. Didn't the medics check you after the fast heart and give you both the all clear? Not sure if I've made that up or remember Reading it

MSFC I've had (sorry if tmi) the odd blob of clear jelly type stuff but this has been only occasionally and very sporadically since about 24 weeks. Dr Google told me it's nothing to be concerned about and can be common and just an increase in CM. I'm happy to be corrected by someone more knowledgable.

I too have wondered when to start RLT - I'm sure I read 32 weeks but everyone told me to hold off so I have.

    Happy birthday mirror!

I've been v hot too but haven't found it unbearable however now is a bit different when I'm too hot to sleep! Grrrrr.

I hope you've all been able to enjoy your weekend.
