The "system" would be failing you if anyone offered you a loan of 25k. Most lenders these days subscribe to the "treating customers fairly" principle, to loan you that amount of money just to repay your debt would be irresponsible of them. You seriously need to look at how to reduce your debt without borrowing again. It can be done, especially with all the excellent advice available of this website. You got yourself into this situation, borrowing more is not the answer, please listen to what eveyone is trying to tell you. Your other option is Bankruptcy, your credit file is already ruined, why not look into it ?

Great idea, no-one likes wasting their time on someone who simply won't listen.

Rest assured, those reading the thread for the first time, as I just have, are well able to decide for themselves who that comment best applies to... :p

So i spend about 2 hours on the phone to them discussing all my private details within earshot of my colleagues, only to be told at the end its been rejected due to my credit report. This is madness.

Does anyone else think this might be part of the reason that all his colleagues are on better salaries?

OP - you mentioned your kids, do you want them to learn that borrowing more and more money is the way to happiness? Seriously, go and see your GP about the depression and your local CAB to get some proper financial advice, because you are not going to get the answer that you want about the loan and you seriously need to think about another option.

Not much to add to all this I was a broker for 30 years and then it all changed. I don't wish to pour scorn on you as some here have . "let he who is without sin cast the first stone" is my mantra. Seriously you cannot raise money so you need to deal with the debts, then start with a credit repair program. This is not a quick fix. If you have no equity you could consider a DRO or Bankruptcy, but I'm not recommending either with out much thought and analysis,as although you should keep your house you stand to lose any excess income you may have. Perhaps a clean break no mortgage no debt might be another thought. You don't sound as if the house mortgage is giving you much joy. It's only bricks and can be replaced, your life, health ,family, sanity sleep can't

Can't believe I am replying to this anymore....get a life anyone still replying to this....

Excellent reading skills demonstrated here again...I actually said on page 1 I was the highest earn amongst my colleagues...but that is because they work for peanuts (despite doing the same job and not spending most their week worrying about their finances)...if you could put 2 and 2 together for once in your life you may realise that obviously doesn't feel a very safe position, I will only be protected by a certain law for so long before they can boot me out and get someone else to come work for a bowl of rice a day.

So my request was simple...loan to pay off current debtors which helps curb the extortionate APR and charges I am occurring....then have some left over for when the poo hits the fan and I am stuck...I would take some steps now to be in a position to be elsewhere before that happens...and that costs money...and I don't have that sort of money just now...hence needing a loan....can you see how simple it is? For anyone saying clearing my existing debt with a loan isn't helping...solve me this one. Now, much to my discomfort I went with the advice of this board and went for the CCCS. It took 5 months before it all worked out in which time all my debts defaulted, I kept telling them (as per advice from CCCS) that it was all nothing to worry about its all with CCCS just now...but that didn't make one iota bit of difference. The best part is what is happening.

Take one quick peek at my bank statement and tell me what you think is wrong here. None of the parties involve (CCCS/Bank) say hey can change this....

Overdraft limit was 1060 (don't ask me why, I asked bank to make it 1500 if they werent going to loan me 25k the least they could do was extend my overdraft to avoid raping me on charges. they increased it by 60)

Look at how its being paid off (5.96) and how much it is growing....

I will do the math for you...continuing at this rate....heres how it will look at the end of 5 years (the length of time it would take to pay off the loan)

Now bear in mind I have been trying to get a loan to help make 6000 of debt easier to pay for 4 years now....thats one year and I could have been debt free now if I had just gotten that loan...instead interest rates/charges/unfortunate events and NOW taking the advice of you clowns has stuffed me royally. So unless any of you are in my positiion, !!!!!!, GTFO and DIAGF....you are part of my problem now with your stupid advice, CCCS I told you all when my name was ciscokid that it was bs and it would ruin me, and it did.

Ciscokid? Weren't your 'high risk investments' gambling debts?
  • You have already had a windfall that paid off your debts once, then you ran them up again. If you're so desperate to clear debts why did you do that?

Stop being so self-righteous and listen for a change. People responding to your posts HAVE been where you are. Actually, 3 years ago my debt was double what yours is now. Now it's pretty much the same. It's going down because I'm SPENDING LESS and living well below my salary, so I can pay things off. Stop thinking that refinancing will solve everything - you had that money for free in the past and blew it!!

For the sake of your family see your GP and get your SSRI's down your neck. I have said before, I live with a man who used to talk so much like you it scared me. He's now medicated and is calm, thinks more clearly and can cope with day to day situations rationally.

The reason you are overdrawn every month is you can't meet your debt repayments. It's not rocket science. A DMP with CCCS will reduce those payments to something affordable but it will TAKE TIME for interest to stop and your debts to decrease. Keep making the payments and the DMP will NOT FAIL!

For the sake of your kids get your head out of your @rse and realise YOU have caused this situation. Take responsibility!!!

You seem in quite a bad way, head wise, I hope you have a good friend in real life who could point a few things out to you, and hopefully help your mindset.

People gave you very good advice before https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2923292 - and you completely ignored it. Please try to address your gambling problems (calling scratchcards 'high interest investments' suggests you are still deluding yourself) and isten
to some of the advice on this forum. Plenty of people have been in far worse situations than you and the only way out is to spend less than you earn. Even if you were able to get a loan at a lower interest rate than your current debts, it still wouldn't solve your problem unless you got to grips with the fac tthat you have to spend less. I wish you well with your problems but until you have your lightbulb moment, I fear things will only get worse for you.
