I need a loan...

I got myself in a similar situation, although on a much smaller scale some years ago.
I got myself £1,500 overdrawn on my current account so took out a loan from my bank to get back in credit. Because I was no longer permanently overdrawn, I carried on spending and was soon another £1,500 overdrawn so Had to take out another bank loan to cover this.
I had a very sympathetic bank manager who actually phoned me up and kindly explained that spending more than I earned was only ever going to take me in one direction.
The only thing I could do was make the payments on the loans and spend within the money I had left.
That's all you can do I'm afraid. You're not living within your means and so you're getting further and further into debt. All you can do is keep making the payments on what you owe and then stick to spending what's left.
Anything else is going to lead you further and further into trouble.0 -
Please everyone who thinks of butting in with their own "well I once drove a car and I crashed so no one should ever drive" type stories, please don't. It is infuriating me more to realise people who were too stupid enough to help themself when they got the chance blew it, and as a result has screwed it for the rest of us. My point is that I have never had the help. I didn't borrow 15k...it has accrued through lost of small things which have built up AS A RESULT OF NOT BEING ABLE TO CLEAR THE INITIAL DEBT EARLIER ON WITH A CONSOLIDATION LOAN. I am now off work with depression and will start losing money so things will only get worse.
I once crossed the road using the signal crossing but still got run down, but I won't tell you thats a reason to never to use the signal crossing....0 -

By that logic, I once helped someone who was extremely ungrateful and rude... so bye!!!0 -

You need to forget the loan. It's not going to happen.
I know it's a cliche, but work out exactly what money (a) comes in and (b) goes out every month. Make whatever cuts are necessary to (b) to make sure (a) is higher and live like that 'til the debt is gone. You honestly don't have a choice.
On a separate note, I have lived with someone who spoke the way you do on here, missed work through depression, had times when he spent money very erratically and generally behaved in a very superior and "it's everyone else's fault" or "everyone else is stupid" manner. Once diagnosed and medicated he was far better able to deal with these kinds of issues. I hope you can get the help you need to deal with your depression, as missing work can't be helping your money worries.DMP Mutual Support Thread member 244

People are trying to help you using their own experiences as a guide.
If you want to take on further debt to cover the one you can't pay off already, then go ahead. I'm sure lots of others have followed this route successfully, it must just be a coincidence that none of them have posted here.
People are giving you good advice here, but I think you need to sort out your health issues first (and I mean that in a constructive way).0 -
Yep mate, if the whole thing is putting your job at risk I'd go to the docs and get it sorted."We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0

If you had gotten a consolidation loan in the first place, all you would have done is replaced the existing debt with a new, bigger debt. That is NOT the same as clearing it.
Accept that you will not get another loan and move on to dealing with your existing debts as best you can rather than continuing on as you are with things getting worse. Go to the DFW board, do an SOA and listen to the people who have been in even worse situations than yourself, and have come out the other side.0 -
