You are not going to get a loan at the current time in your situation. If you have a need for around £10k the only way I could see you could possibly raise this would be to consider selling your property.
Whether that would raise enough for you to do what you want with the money, pay off your debts, move city, relocate your family only you know - or if you don't you would need to get the property valued and find out what your mortgage redemption cost would be. Whether you could then rent a property for the same or less than you pay for a mortgage only you know - or you could research to find out. Whether your family would agree to that plan only you know.

Try not to focus on what other people have, or what they can do with their money as you have no idea of the true position of their finances, maybe they are from wealthy families, maybe they are riding a very high wave of debt and are about to tumble into the precipice. Your energy is much better focused on your own situation, accepting the debt you have and working to clear it and move forwards.

I had a consolidation loan once.
I spunked the money and ended up owing both amounts, being in a worse position that I was before.

Good for you. Where did you get it?

I need a home to stay in, selling is out of the question. The home I stay in is in a state of disrepair which won't fix itself, hence I need some £££££

I don't focus on what others have, I just know what that money would mean for me, and find it a very hard kick in the face to see money wasted elsewhere.

My "Falling DOwn" moment is coming soon, I know it...and they'll be the first to get it :D

If you're going to give advice on this board you NEED to have seen it, not many quotes you can post on here though due to the lovely filters :rotfl:

What film is this you're both on about? Do tell.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.

I know things seem impossible now and that everyone else has it so good but... well, wishful thinking and resentment aren't going to get you anywhere.

As already stated, you're not going to get a loan with your current credit history.

So put that out of your mind and start focusing on what *can* be done. Get on DFW board and people can advise you how to deal with creditors (as, again, briefly mentioned on here) and the OS board will show you how to make big savings in your daily outgoings.

Without wanting to sound callous: life isn't fair but its down to you to deal with what it throws at you. Wishing for a miracle won't help; knuckling down and addressing your spending habits will.

Only *you* can sort this mess out.... So get over to the other boards and start sorting it out.

    Best of luck.

Barclays, well the artist formerly known as Woolwich.
The point is that I learned a lesson from it, paid it off and have but 12 months left before being debt free.

It didnt work because I got the cash and where I hadnt learned a lesson I spunked it on extending my good times.
As did 99% of others who also tried the same trick.

Hence why banks pulled the plug on that route out of trouble, it is just too tempting.

Your strategy seems flawed, if you can't service a £15k debt, why does it seem like a good plan to service a £25k debt?
Flawed is a nice way of putting it.

I have nothing to show for 15k of debt...about 10k of that debt was accrued trying to pay off the 5k... when it was 5k I wanted to borrow 10k... if I could have I wouldn't have been in this mess by now...but thats another story.
Cant you see whats going to happen if you borrow £25k? If not, read above over and over until you do.
