Stupid advice ? Don't think so.

CCCS are not in the business of increasing peoples debts, take their advice, i think you'll find it works, borrowing 25k to repay your debts would be a dangerous thing to do. You have to address the underlying problems first, otherwise you'll be in the same position a few years down the line.
I have proved that I will be in £10k of more debt in 5 years time thanks to CCCS... my plan was to take 10k more debt now and have the lot paid off in 5 years. Please think before hitting reply!!! If you want to contribute something, contribute something!!!!
  • jkelly81 - all squabbling aside, it's clear you won't get a loan for any amount, so are you going to do down the bankruptcy route or try another DMP?

    Bankruptcy makes no sense..

Another DMP is not going to magic up the 10k or so extra I would like in this interim (half of this pays off the people who helped me pay essential things like mortgages food and utilities when I was receiving no wage) to get me through the next 5 years..

Not paying my debt and keeping the money sounds good...but ultimately ensures I will never be good for credit again for the rest of my life, screws my plans of starting my own business eventually (my "high risk" investments...you could call it gambling I guess...) and is ultimately BAD FOR THE ECONOMY...what I am suggesting is surely GOOD for it...

Winning the lottery....the odds of this are 1 in 14 million. While these are significantly better odds than someone just loaning me 25k interest free/little interest over 5 years out of the goodness of their heart...I have given up hope here...

Bank Job....the sentences here are too variable...5 years and the risks would be far outweighed by the rewards...but 10+ years and we start to lose any value...

Cons/Stealing - while stealing from a bank is a victimless crime (its just paper) conning and stealing is not something I can ever condone no matter how desperate the offender is and how rich and stupid the victim is (we've all seen that baldy guy on the TV chasing after rogue land sellers/magic bean tradesmen who managed to repeatedly prise cheques for tens of thousands of pounds from people who very willingly just gave them away like 10p to the common street tramp.

It all leads me back to the one simple suggestion folks...anyone sitting down for 2 seconds and looking at my finances should be able to determine easily enough that the affordability that stability of my finances wuold prove this to be very low risk....if anyone wants to argue with that I am more than happy to arrange a teamviewer session with you and we can sit and go through my finances witha fine toothpick. You might find how to save a penny here and a penny there...but I am thinking bigger picture, longer term....I can prove how a small loan 4 years ago could have helped me be far better off by now, have my loan paid off early and not have to bug anyone here...surely thats worth it alone?

But just "ban the idiot".....:T simpler .....

Something most people on this board clearly lack, COMMON SENSE.

In that case then what happened in the past then, was common sense not used.
  • So all you want is £10k. Isn't that what you were given before? (I think you said it was £10k but haven't the time to scroll back). So what happened to that? Why are you still in debt?

You will not get a loan.

The only way you will get out of this situation is reduce your outgoings or increase your income. You will get no further credit and need to pay off the debt that you have.

I do not believe that CCCS have got you into this situation. Funny how their plans seem to work for everyone else. Maybe the secret is just sticking to it.

I have just one thing to say in response to that:

What has changed recently to make this (prospective new) loan low risk, when every other loan you've taken out you've had problems paying back?

Ultimately, whether you are willing to acknowledge it or not, this is a solvency problem. Your outgoings are larger than your incomings, and what you need is to reverse this situation. You've said several times that "you don't know what your outgoings are", which is half the problem - and all of the problem when it comes to your bank charges, since it means that you can't ensure you have the money available to pay DDs as they become due.

I don't believe that your outgoings materially change every month - HBOS will collect their payment on the same day (more or less) each period, and that goes for the other companies too. If you don't know when this is, take control: ring them up, ask them, and write down the answer. Make a list of how much you're paying each month to your creditors, too - these are the most important payments of course. Set a realistic budget for other expenses such as food and fuel - any lump sum (e.g. yearly) payments should can be amortized across 12 months.

Fundamentally, it seems that you're not willing to take control of this situation, but are just sitting by, watching it happen to you, and complaining about the banks' role in it. I can tell you now, your problem will not be resolved until you decide to face up to it and get it sorted properly. Right now it's quite simply unmanageable, but that's just because of how you're viewing it - if you change your attitude I think you'd be surprised quite how achieveable a resolution would be.

I've come to the conclusion that this gentlement is totally beyond reasoning. I feel deeply sorry for his partner and children - what he must be like to live with I cannot imagine. The really sad thing is that, unless he gets a grip on not just his finances but his total mental state, I can see him ending up literally homeless and on the streets. Still railing against everyone who has 'crossed him'. Just hope his family doesn't end up the same way and that his partner manages to sort herself and the children out in time.

Well i would have thought the fact he has a family would spur him do the right thing and play it safe and not risk his future.
