Thanks for the information, it never occurred to me to try Toys r us. I agree about the accessory pack and, to be honest, I'd never use the sweatbands or that kind of thing. I already have the wii, so it's just the balance board etc I'm after and you've also answered a question I had about the batteries, so thanks for that!:TNever used Simplygames but I know people who have with no issues. Be aware that price for the Wii bundle doesn't include delivery so I would be tempted to go to Toys R Us and save yourself £20.
The accessory pack thing is nice and includes a mat plus the charger, some socks and other weird bits and pieces but you can probably pick them up cheaper elsewhere. Certainly you can use normal rechargable batteries in the Wii Fit (4 x AA). Note the controllers also take 2 x AA batteries each so it might be cheaper to just buy a normal battery charger and a pack of AA rechargable batteries to use with both....
Oh, normal batteries are included with everything so you can get going straightaway anyway.0 -
POsted thsi on the cheap games console thread as well as wasn't sure where to put it...
Anyway my brother was going to order my new wii black last night but unfortunately Toy r us site was having problems and wouldn't deliver to a different delivery address so I am about to order it for myself....
Anyway as it's joint present for my birthday and Christmas from all the family my brother says I will need another nunchuk thing and another remote and motion plus....I thought you'd just take it in turns but I assume now I need two?Anywhere knows the cheapest place to get black ones?
Also what else do I need with it? Do I need a charger stand thing?
You don't need a charger - the Wiiremotes use 2 x AA batteries and you get some in the box. From what I've read, most people just recommend using normal recharagable batteries and thats what I plan to do.
A second controller is nice and for the two player games like table tennis, you need it. On most of the other games you can say two (or more) people are playing with one controller and it tells you to swap between turns.
I got a black Wiiremote (without numchuck but with Motion Plus) off Amazon last week for £30 but they're now £40 which seems to be the price everywhere again. You can get the blac Wiiremote without Motion Plus for about £29 but you wont be able to use it on the games in Sports Resort as they need the add on.
A second numchuck is about £14 but there's only a few games make use of it so I haven't bothered yet.0 -

The cheapest I can find is about £38...I was wondering whether to wait until after Christmas as there may be better deals then....Failing that I did consider doing the sad thing and making do with a white £10 one....£30 just for the privilege of it being a different colour seems an awful lot....We have rechargable batteries and a charger anyway so good to know we can use them for something else...0 -

Yeah - it is a bit steep but I've heard the non official ones are a bit bobbins - a mate had one and it kept losing sync with the console mid game. The official white ones are roughly the same price as the black.
Maybe hang on and see if anyone does any deals closer to Christmas?0 -

The £10 one is an official white one from Littlewoods, think it was posted somewhere here....Don't think I would dare using anything not genuine until it's out of warranty...0 -
My head hurts looking at all the different ones.
Does anyone know who has the best deal going.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
