This might be an old thread, but the principle of it is still valid and current - people want to get the best deals on a Wii, especially coming up to Xmas !

Help!!?? Need to buy a Wii as a Christmas gift this year but having never owned a games console I have absolutely no idea what I'm buying here!

I thought there was just one Wii - but turns out there's white ones, black ones and Red ones .... Are they all the same?

Then there's 'motion plus' ??? What's that? Do they all have this? Do I need this.

Any help on spec and deals is very much appreciated!

Depends if you want those games.
Personally i would go for the console and buy the games you want seperately as they can be found cheaply on amazon, play and the like.

It really depends on whom you are buying it for.
I've just researched into the motion plus thing a bit more and it appears to be on the wii remote. It seems to enhance the motion detection therefore enabling you to get more out of games such as tennis, golf and sword fighting games.
I quite like the deal from play.com that is shown above to include wii fit (but that's just the mum in me)

In the summer Sainsburys had a deal for the wii console, sports resorts etc for £129. I wonder if it will go that low in the run up to Christmas? I wish I'd bought one now :-(
