I got my welcome letter today with user ID and was able to log in online with the password nominated at application.0

So it seems you will be able to log in online for this account.
Same as above post by plodder73 - I also received my user ID and account number in the post today, managed to log in and view account details.
Future dated payments are also shown online on the Statement page, the status is showing as payment processing on the 24/06/11 from my linked bank account.
Also like afmfifgh - The Direct Debit for the account is now showing in the list of my Direct Debits in my linked Current Account.Never let the perfume of the premium overpower the odour of the risk0 -
This account can be accessed online. I was previously unknown to the Newcastle BS. They asked for ID nos of new-style UK passport or UK driving licence online; I was then passed through the vetting system, no further docs necessary. (Probably a result of my you.gov registration, I'm guessing.)
After the acceptance email, the Newcastle sent me a letter with log-in details, and I can now view my account online. (Not that it says much: it has the 'default' rate of 0.10% with an asterisk to a footnote that's on the letter they sent, but which they've forgotten to reproduce on the webpage.)0 -
I also got my username through yesterday and can view the account online etc. I could see my initial DD deposit showing as a pending transaction. The site did also let me choose an additional DD deposit on 04/07, so hopefully this will be honored too.0

Btw, can anyone confirm: I'm assuming this 4.2% pa is annually compounded with the principal for five years? Seems like a silly question, I know, but the banks seem to try all sorts on these days...0

A(nother) question about making more than one deposit to this Newcastle BS Premier Bond Issue 2.
I opened an account on the 15th, received the welcome letter and can login to Newcastle BS, it has no funds yet, which are due to be taken from my current account on the 24th by direct debit (which should be in the process of being setup with my bank, although doesn't appear online yet), this should take around 3 working days to transfer so Newcastle BS should be funded around the 29th/30th June. We have 20 days in which to make the initial deposit, which would make the latest date Tuesday 5th July.
What I am not clear about is can I make a second payment to add more funds once the first direct debit has cleared, say on Fri 1st July, or Monday 4th July via Faster Payments from Llyods or Natwest current account? If so would it be better to use the same Bank account as the one that was used to setup the direct debit for the initial deposit?
Sorry if this has already been covered.0 -

I have checked with them and you can fund your account from any bank account at any time within 20 days of opening.
I transferred 2 separate amounts by BACS on the 15th and they are both showing as received on my NBS account. I have transferred another amount by BACS on Friday and expect this to be showing on my NBS account soon.
AFAIK, you don't need to wait for thd dd to come out before you make the other transfer.0 -
m0n3y, yes, I successfully made 2 faster payments on successive days while the DD is still being set up. The timing on other deposits is not connected to the DD, so you should be able to deposit on 1st or 4th July, and they don't need to come from the same a/c as the DD.Martin0

Have mine and registered for online access as yet deposit not showing but didn't expect it to for a couple of days yet.
On a BIG + had a bit of password problem but have to say their support line was excellent.0
