Star Upgrades and Downgrades

^either way it would either encourage people to post for no reason or thank friends for no reason maybe?
when we stopped changing things (stars or titles) depending on post counts, the amount of rubbish posts dropped!
id assume this is why they havent published the exact boundries for each star (oh ive only got 50posts till my next star i wantg a new star today so im gonna go spam everything for the day)

Would it not be better if the star rankings were based on thanked posts rather than posts?

There has been so much abuse of the thanks button (arms/DT mainly), that it would make any rankings based on them meaningless.
