Pop up tents are only rubbish if they are single skinned. All single skinned tents are pretty rubbish, and some of the cheap ones sold in supermarkets are single skinned. They tend to leak and also drip condensation down on you. Lovely! I got a double skinned four man pop up tent for the two of us which I think is fantastic, but a bit of a knack to getting it back in the bag.

Any family of friends who won't be going who have a tent that they could lend you. People often have one they hardly use. Make sure you put it up before you go to check all the bits are there.

I think i've found a tent, hopefully it'll be ok, might do a bit of a test 'camp' in the garden first. I still have to buy the tickets :o , shall do that the weekend. going to borrow sleeping bags, and keep an eye out for offers on beer/food/disposable bbqs... when i get there im going to partion my money so ive only got a certain amount on my person each day and the rest will be locked away in a little safe in the locker im goign to get. hmm i really do think i can do this cheap after all.

also looking like we'll only be travelling there alone, friends going to come down later, we're gonna take his tent and pitch it, hes gonna bring our booze so we dont have to carry it all the way down.
